This logic is basically just victim blaming. At least that’s how it comes off to me personally, kinda like saying “It’s YOUR fault you get harassed for going out and being proud of who you are when the status quo insists that you be ashamed!” Like pardon us for being happy and wanting to express that pride to show that we refuse to be spooked back into the closet, which is basically the root of us showing off our queerness in the first place even if the reasons beyond that have changed over time. At least that’s my view.

Yes, because they are the instigators in this circumstance. Its not just a matter of pride at this point. They have already admitted to actively seeking out provocation. Its like going to a bar and getting in everybodies face and saying, “I’m trans and can drink you under the table.” They are seeking provocation. Yes. It is their fault
