People, people… this is why the mute button exists. Trash talking exists in video games. You are inherently robbing us of free speech, which is legal because this is your product, it’s completely terrible and violates our social standards in video games. Not to mention acknowledging sexism is being sexist as you acknowledge a difference in the genders- yet you try to say equality, while clearly showing a difference.
What happened to being racist? What if I call a black guy the n word and say he deserves to be a slave? No perma ban? But if I tell a girl to go to the kitchen, I get PERMANENTLY BANNED?!?!
This system will be abused. People will pretend to be girls to perma ban others. Why is this a perma ban? What happens if a girl is sexist? This clearly has to do with the fact that the lead of this project is a female, and she needs to realise WE DON’T CARE IF YOU’RE A GIRL NOW STOP TRYING TO ACT OUT YOUR HATE FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD ONTO THE HALO POPULATION!
> A permaban is a bit much. I will also call foul when men are being abused by women with no repercussion to her.
Yes, that’s my whole point. We already have a Xbox Live Moderation team, which gets abused but far, far less, to report players with. It works. Enough reports=ban A moderator reads it and it’s bad=ban
I’m sure this is part of the ToS, which you sign away certain rights to use the product.
This is a good thing. All those -Yoink- keyboard warriors will finally get a little justice. Sexism shouldn’t be tolerated anywhere. Just because we’re online doesn’t make that any different. It’s a problem that has needed to be stopped for a long time and it finally will be.
I can understand the other side of the argument, but what this does is good and you can’t argue with that.
> Orr…How about everyone just acts with a bit of class, dignity, and respect when playing the game?
There will still be sexist people, and even if people are civil, there will be people saying “He’s being sexist!” even when they are just beating them in a game. It’ll probable be abused terribly.

This. I’m against sexism, racism, and any other discriminating isms but sadly there are people in this world that manipulate the system. I got banned for language when I rarely ever curse online and irl. Turns out a kid I had on my friends list who I knew in person was mad at me and got a bunch of other people to report me. A perma ban is going to be seriously abused unless they do a proper investigation and can honestly and confidently say that it is a recurring problem.
343i shouldn’t deal with these problems. The XBL team should as they have always done.
A few wrong words, and I could be perma-banned from Matchmaking.
I understand the concept there addressing, and I think it’s great they are making note of it, but I’m not sure if this is the right way to go about it.

The rest of your post is the main problem.
There are differences between men and women. We are equal but different. Sadly, people in this world are sexist, people of both genders. You have to draw a line somewhere, because it’s not okay to be sexist. You have the right to say whatever you want, but in online games it gets really, really bad and offensive.
343 and Microsoft are well within their rights and it’s a damn good move to start cracking down on racism and sexism online. People should and will be banned for being bigots, and I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.

I believe acknowledging something as racism or sexism is sexist/racist in itself, because you acknowledge a difference in someones race/gender.(Obviously there are and my opinion is much darker than this, but this is the way it SHOULD be)
I agree. A perma ban for sexism is a bit extreme. Racism I could somewhat understand but sexism? No, get it out of here. And I bet it’ll only be on men for being sexist to women and not women being sexist to men.
