As i friend told me, after reading forum posts on other sites as well as some ign posts, 343 is considering adding a perk system into the armor of halo.
…Is this bad? for the true halo fans back from the first to reach, then yes it is. Halo is meant to have people be themselves, not clones of everyone else like COD. When you look at the armor, you see a persons personality. If a high ranker wears the simplest of armor, then you know he/she is either a cheater, or a man/woman who shows their rank by their skill, and nothing more. Or, like in reach, if you see a spartan, decked out in such armor, that he looks more like a tank then an actual human being, then you know that they want to show off, and put their skills to the test to hold their title as amazing with their armor and their skills…
A perk system will destroy that uniqueness, by essentialy making everyone wear the same armor, to get the best perks to kill everyone…like guantlets to make their fists stronger, a snper helmet for accuacy, a suit of armor for health, etc…Halo 4 will, pretty much, kill the halo genre and turn it into a cod copycat, even though they say they wont, because “we can support a number of different playstyles”, that doesnt help the community when you put in classic slayer like reach, but a magjority of the games are perk based combat.
So, with saddening news, i plan to preorder the game, but wait till my friends play it to see if it is even the same game…or did halos bleeding wound from armor ablities in reach, kill the series…I hope not, fellow fans of halo…I truly hope that our spartans will live on, with their unique styles, their unique colors, and the unique way they see the world…That is all
