Perk system Confirmed......

As i friend told me, after reading forum posts on other sites as well as some ign posts, 343 is considering adding a perk system into the armor of halo.

…Is this bad? for the true halo fans back from the first to reach, then yes it is. Halo is meant to have people be themselves, not clones of everyone else like COD. When you look at the armor, you see a persons personality. If a high ranker wears the simplest of armor, then you know he/she is either a cheater, or a man/woman who shows their rank by their skill, and nothing more. Or, like in reach, if you see a spartan, decked out in such armor, that he looks more like a tank then an actual human being, then you know that they want to show off, and put their skills to the test to hold their title as amazing with their armor and their skills…

A perk system will destroy that uniqueness, by essentialy making everyone wear the same armor, to get the best perks to kill everyone…like guantlets to make their fists stronger, a snper helmet for accuacy, a suit of armor for health, etc…Halo 4 will, pretty much, kill the halo genre and turn it into a cod copycat, even though they say they wont, because “we can support a number of different playstyles”, that doesnt help the community when you put in classic slayer like reach, but a magjority of the games are perk based combat.

So, with saddening news, i plan to preorder the game, but wait till my friends play it to see if it is even the same game…or did halos bleeding wound from armor ablities in reach, kill the series…I hope not, fellow fans of halo…I truly hope that our spartans will live on, with their unique styles, their unique colors, and the unique way they see the world…That is all

I’m just gonna trust 343 and judge the game for myself when it comes out.

Not this thread again…

> I’m just gonna trust 343 and judge the game for myself when it comes out.

The words of a true fan, one that does not judge what he has not seen yet, but reserves that judgment when he has evidence for it

Super old…

> I’m just gonna trust 343 and judge the game for myself when it comes out.

This is all we can do.

We know nothing about these “perks” so judging them isnt possible

Going to wait at this point.

We can assume…

it is definitely a bad decision to have “perks”.

sigh oh boy. Here we go again…

I agree with your general opinion on the matter: Halo 4 would screw the franchise if this were to happen. The Halo series was all about raw skill. It was SPARTAN vs SPARTAN and there were no dirty tricks pulled to give one player the upper hand.

PS
Very nice last paragraph, sir!

It’s funny because there aren’t going to be perks. Frank O’Connor has said himself that there are no “Perks” in Halo 4. Stop judging before you know what the heck the system is.

Either way, halo will be halo. Whatever they put in it, i will still play it. Up until the time it has killstreaks, and fast kill times, and all that jazz, i will continue to play it. I will play it the same way i played halo 1, because the game wil evolve, and i one man can not stop that.

I will continue to enjoy the game, because halo will always be halo. And if its halo, i will continue to love it.

I will always fight to make it better, in any way i can. But what will happen i cannot stop, but i will try.

So your going to let your friends decide if you like it or not?

Way to think for yourself

In the article, Frankie said:
“I was addicted Black Ops all of last year - they do player rewards really well.”

That got me worried…

They will ruin Halo if they add customization before game. Never should customization affect gameplay in Halo.

We are all DOOMED.

That is all.

Concerned, worried and misinformed? Yeah, probably. Doomed? Lets not jump to conclusions. We dont know what these perks are, or how they will affect gameplay. So please wait before you jump to conclusions and blacklist the game.

That is all.

Lol. It was kind of a joke but k. I don’t think that 343 realizes that nobody ever wanted custom loadouts or perks or anything. When people start to play Halo 4, and then they see the screen that says: Chose your armour customization for gameplay or something, I think most people will be like, WTF?
