It’s been very obvious over the years that Halo campaign games despite being mostly pretty good each time, they have pretty much abandoned what it really was that felt so special in Halo1. I class the sequels as adventures in another universe to that of Halo1 at least in terms of a connection felt to them and with combat despite now being a little clunky perhaps to some, Halo1 combat encounters are always on the right side of challenge and reward resulting in a more fun experience from them. From the latest video of the E3 infinite trailer detailing it’s coming together it’s nice to know that someone at the helm is genuinely understanding of what form Halo1 took and from this there is at least hope for something truly special this time
I like all of the Halo games but the Halo1 campaign just feels like it belongs on another page to the other ones and I’m filled with a little hope this time that the people most important working on this are allowed the proper conditions and time to make good on a truly definitive next chapter. Of course this doesn’t guarantee anything but for one last time I’m filled with a little hope
