I just had my first perfection but it is not showing up in my commendations, according to the stats I went 18-0. Is this just a bug or does it take some time to actually register on Waypoint?

It’s there! The counter only shows the number of Perfections for the current tier, and because it only takes a single Perfection to get past the first tier, the only way to tell it registered is that it now shows 0 out of 2, rather than 0 out of 1.

You’re very welcome! Don’t worry, it confused me the first time, too. 
On the bright side, you only have to worry about getting 15 of them for mastery!
On the negative, they’re pretty difficult to get in the first place.
