It was stated that the Perfection medal was left out of Halo 4 due to ‘instant respawn’ (IR). If that is the case, then why aren’t other medal left out too?
For example:
There are many opportunities for long multi-kill sprees due to IR,which are far easier to get than a Perfection.
IR allows for long kill sprees too which are far easier to get than Perfections.
If one accepts the fact that IR allows easier multi-kill medals and killing spree medals to be obtained and,one accepts that the Perfection is still hard to get, despite IR, why then isn’t it in the game?
I just do not understand why a medal, which is harder to get than sprees and multi-kills, even with IR, is somehow treated less favorably than those medals.
Isn’t it possible to somehow patch/hot fix/TU the Perfection medal into the game? It is only slayer (Infinity slayer, BTIS and SWAT based medal) shouldn’t be too hard!
Or, could it be some how linked to the Commendations in game. That is, if it is to hard to place in-game, perhaps then link it to the Waypoint and game stats where the Commendations are for Perfection and when that clicks up it awards a Perfection medal to show in our stats. Sure,while not the same as hearing the announcer say Perfection in-game, the medal is still cool to have.
In any event, 343i, please bring it back for subsequent Halo’s. Oh, and all the weapon spree and splatter spree medals too!
That doesn’t make any sense to me. Why would Perfections be left out because of IR? That wouldn’t change anything. And if it’s a Commendation still, why wouldn’t they keep it as a medal still?
A simple explanation for this missing medal stuff… 343i sucks.
I miss when top medals were displayed, but even in Reach a perfection didn’t show up as a top medal. Apparently First Strike is more cool. -eyeroll-

Exactly! Apparently, though, IR is the reason.

Never got to play Halo 3 really. Halo Reach was my first Halo game and I never got any. I;m half way through the Perfection commendation for this game.
As I said,never had any on Halo Reach…now I get them, there is no medal.
I never got any but perhaps one or two weapon spree medals with the shotty on Halo Reach…I have them for many, many weapons on Halo 4 but, again, no weapon spree medals now.
And, you guessed it; same for the splatter medals.
You go and try and improve yourself and get better at different things and all the medals are gone!
Sue, it might seem like a minor thing but,for me,it was one of my goals in attempting to improve…aiming for medals I couldn’t get before.
Perfection medal being absent is due to the fact you do not receive it until the game is finished. Medals count towards Ordnance Drops, so a medal obtained at the end of the match is void.
That is also why other medals have been taken way, as an overabundance of them would mean OD raining from the sky, especially considering how many medals there still are.
