Recently I’ve seen a disgusting trend of people creating second accounts and deliberately ranking lower than they should be so they can mop the floor with people many ranks below them.
You can tell one of these accounts usually by them having less than 200 gamer score because all of it comes from halo 5 Mp achievements,
Theres clearly something flawed with the ranking that this can happen, just had a game where we were a man down so that seemed to be the reason we were losing until half of the other team quit leaving the fake account player to get 31 kills and destroy us , it was a match with gold and platinum players and no platinum player should be able to get that score, is just ridiculous.
Really wish people would just play the game farely and go against people of equal skill, that’s the whole point of ranked.
I’m a plat player and I can get 30 kills in slayer games too… I also fail to understand what guarantees the guy is using a fake account, sure people boost, but for all we know some could actually be new players.
It’s not always fake accounts mate. I’m a plat player, roughly even kd (so not real good) but I played swat tonight and got ranked bronze 3. The ranking system is based on the ranks you play against and whether you win or loose against those players. I was mainly playing against gold and silver players yet did win against some plat players but still was ranked this low. It’s silly to say the least.
This isn’t a new problem, this has been happening ever since online play with rankings has come to be… Plus I don’t see the use in a number or a type of metal deciding my “skill” in a game, you’re either good, or you aren’t… You win some or you lose some… Its pretty ignorant to think that “oh this guy has a low rank in this playlist, imma pub stomp them!” Ive beaten a team of onyx when me and my buddies were golds and plats… and vice verca’, ive been ROLLED by people lower ranked than I
A lot of pro’s do this too because they can’t find Champ matches on their main account. Though there was just recently a MM fix/tweak to try and help with that.
They would still need to throw a match here and there in order to stay within those lower ranks but it’s still annoying.

I’ve seen a lot in arena people will spend money for easier wins, heck I’ve seen people spend a few bucks to change their name for one game then change it back
I am a platinum in team arena and diamond in slayer, last season I was a diamond in everything and the season before that I was diamond and then onyx in FFA. I able to rack close to thirty kills in single match especially if it is not slayer. I just don’t understand how the ranking system works. cause either it is broken or I actually get worse the longer I play Halo 5 idk but they seem to do a little fixing of their arena ranking system.
This isn’t new, people have been doing this since Halo 3. They buy an entry level rank for their team, and the rest of their team benefits when the level 47’s would take on level 30’s.
Would people deliberately spend for a new account? Probably the same people who spend hundreds of dollars on gold packs. The money probably isn’t theirs anyways.

Well that’s also a flaw, fair enough you want to play with friends, great. And of course you won’t all be the same rank, but if the matching was better you could go into a game with let’s a diamond an onyx and two golds and the game should make an opposing team with equal CSR. By using a 2nd account it’ll but you against people far worse than you which is an unfair advantage. The whole point of ranked is the find even games, of course it’s not perfect but stuff like this really doesn’t help.
But yeh I highly doubt they spend more money for it, free accounts can be made on Xbox one because you can choose to 'share gold on this Xbox ’ hence the spam bot accounts that send messages to you being made for free

Yes, there’s tons of smurf accounts currently ruining the “competitive” multiplayer. As you said there’s a few ways to tell, such as having a very low amount of games and being extraordinarily good at the game for such a low rank. And they usually have generic random names, such as CrowdedPotato454.
It’s a form of cheating and should be stopped, but nobody seems to care. I’d like to see one account per Gold subscription, no exceptions. This really needs to be cracked down on.

That’s not a good reason. If you’re playing with a lower ranked player, then the matchmaking system will adjust who you play against accordingly. You’ll bring in the higher ranked players, he’ll bring in the lower ranked players, so that it balances out and is a fair game.

It’s not the high ranks where this is happening though, it’s gold and plat, fair enough champions playing onyx, there can’t be that much difference there, and maybe even high diamond.
and social playlists really aren’t ranked, they are very often uneven games, they may ‘rank’ you but they don’t necessarily match players of the same rank
