Short answer: Yes.
Longer answer: I loved a game called “Chromehounds”, it was never very popular. I had tons of fun with it though. So did my close friends. We played that title until the servers were taken down. I still have fond memories of it too.
It’s not dead by a long shot. Unless MS pulls the plug out of Halo 4 MP you will still be able to play Halo for a long time.
That said, Halo 4 is next to dead for me. Haven’t played it since Nov. 25th or something. Waiting on the TU in february, but I don’t think I will suddenly enjoy Halo 4. When I sell Halo 4, Halo will be dead to me.
Yes third most played on XBL. However, The population is noticeably low.
Obviously looking for just one overall reason for this issue is an act of stupidity, there will be many various reasons why H4’s population is low, and at the same time, overall XBL population numbers seem to have stagnated.
I attribute a major factor to be the rise of the PC as a formidable and superior gaming platform.
I believe that the next generation of consoles will suffer Sales and population decreases of a considerable amount.
Why would someone purchase a console when their home PC already offers them:
Better graphics and performance, a wider variety of games, free matchmaking, a dvd player / blueray, internet, home entertainment, easily plugged into modern T.V’s, better hardware reliability, ability to replace parts upon malfunction, Keyboard mouse, ability to use xbox controller, multi function.
As many home PC’s already owned by millions are already more powerful than the predicted next generation of console (and certainly better than the current), we have to wonder - Is the console dead?
I believe it is, and if Halo does not return to the PC; Halo will also die.

First of all Halo was dropped from MLG because of the deal with -Yoink!- Gaming and for no other reason, unless you can prove otherwise. Secondly there are other tournaments being held like AGL and word is -Yoink!- going to have LANs at some point. On top of that there are plenty of local tournaments being held. As for your point of FIFA beating Halo I would hope that would be the case. Soccer or more appropriately Football, is the most popular sport in the world by far and FIFA is a well made game. Honestly it would be a little embarrassing for them if Halo was beating it, not the other way around.

Actually thats in America we dont yell out SWAG, YOLO, and HASHTAG in the UK . Im disgusted by america honestly im visiting my family in washington DC and i beg them to come back with us. All i see here are benders and -Yoink!-(i like -Yoink!-). Im praying for this visit to be over your music is horrible.

True mostly Halos been beaten by th most popular things Minecraft ( peeps in my game design course play it all day) COD is in the position Halo used to be in because it lets Casuals do bascially anything they want. and soccer which is growing fast too fast hell even ive enjoyed fifa a bit and street even though streets AI was crappy and the goalie couldnt block anything. The pops dropping but most of all the overall tone and way the forums are people want the entire series to die at least a small margin even 343’s listening now everything they do is bad to them now even though it sould of been considered good before they turned into -Yoinks!-. It can come back but 343 is running out of time.
Soccer is THE sport in a lot of the world outside the US, so I’m not surprised that it’s high on the charts.
The population is fine. I can’t get on every day because I’m too busy, and if I do get on it’s for like 30-45 minutes at the most. Does this mean I have stopped playing Halo? Absolutely not. I’m sure there are thousands of people who are in my shoes. This is why the peak population means absolutely nothing.
When Halo 4 first came out everyone who got it wanted to play it, so the peak population was really high. Then as time went on their lives took over and they didn’t have the time or need to be on at every second of the day. That’s what happened to me, and I’m sure most of you are the same way.
If there was a way to get every single person who regularly plays Halo 4 online at the same time, then we could judge the population.
Well it’s 4th, Not dead by any means, but for a main Halo game? Dismal. ODST had sold %45 copies more by this point.

Your right Halo is not in MLG but as I said above, so what, that doesn’t mean anything. Also I’m American too and I’m not a fan of Soccer but I recognize what it is. Like I said your post was ignorant.
