People who are confused about Specializations

Specializations are not Armor Mods or Perks but the enlistment in the UNSC branch that you want to take. When you reach the max level cap, you get to re-enlist and pick a different branch. When you reach the level cap of that you get special armor, armor mods, skins, emblems, and etc. It all depends on your play style and how you want to play. If you are a sniper, enlist in the sniper specialization. If you like to drive, enlist in the Driver’s specialization. It all depends on YOU.

Sounds like a prestige system sigh

Not exacly. In a presteige system you start ALL OVER including your guns and everything. Specializations you keep everything and move on to the next Specializtion, getting more upgrades, armor and skins all without starting over. Its not starting over, your Progressing.

Hmm, I wonder how many specializations there will be in the game.

I would love a sniper/scout specialization.

It doesn’t sound anything like the prestige system to me. You rank up as high as you can and then you get to pick a path and continue your growth.

In prestige you start back from scratch and lose all of the stuff you worked hard to unlock, and for what? A different medal next to your name and an extra load out slot?

343’s system sounds a lot more rewarding.

Its actually a much more interesting system then cod to be honest, I wonder how many specilizations there will be though.

Well what exactly do you mean by like a sniper specialization? or driving specialization? I just don’t understand what you would unlock in these “branches” of specialization…

-edit or to put it better, what if I don’t JUST want a new snipe modification? I like to use my rifle as well and i’m also big into the support deal, can you pick more than one specialization?

You will unlock skins and mods. And I think some armour

sigh highlighted for ya Bro.

Is this confirmed by 343i? If so, please link. I really hope we don’t have to forfeit weapon unlocks and etc. when we go into specializations!

Im still wondering how the LE plays into this. 343 has said you will still need to reach max level, but apparently LE owners will recieve 6 early specializations, so Im assuming you have to re-enlist at least 6 times before you can pick any of the six branches that come with LE.

I dunno maybe not ?

Yeah probably 343 said that LE owners still have to do work to get them.

Also it occurs to me that in the beginning ranks we’re probably going to be unlocking most of what we’ve seen already as far as weapons and mods, so how many mods are there in the game if specializations unlock them to.

Well if you can re-enlist 6 times and do 6 specializations its not a real specialization anymore.

I don’t really like the idea of it

What mods have we seen so far ? I guess I have not been paying too much attention to the aspect, but I thought the mods were things like perhaps scopes, reticles, and mags, originally.

After seeing some loadout gameplay however I did’nt see a skin option, so I figured the mods might have been skins… Im still not completely sure.

I think that there is only a few specilzations at first but the more you specialize the more options you get to specialize in. but with the limited edition you probably already have six more options to specialize in before anyone else.(but you still have to do the work. but when you do you have more options at first)

That would be the point of me quitting halo

There are two type of mods. And they are enhancements like better motion tracker, can see motion tracker will zoomed in, be able to choose two primary weapons to spawn with, etc.
Then the mods at the of the specialization would relate to that some how 343 has not said. For instance you max out sniping you would get an armor mod that would benefit that type of gameplay.

I think it fits better than 1-50, or Reachs -Yoinked!- up ranking system.

Gives you a reason to keep going, but doesnt force you to, so dedicated players still have a wealth of gameplay to experience, while casuals can unlock all their basics and do whatever they please.

I don’t really understand this. I just hope that everything you unlock is purely aesthetic.
No weapons to be unlocked, these should be equally available to a rookie as to a veteran.

You do have to unlock weapons. I don’t like that either
