People that want Halo Reach to be More like Halo 3

Instead of creating a controversy on a topic that you most likely neglected to spend sufficient time thinking on, play Halo 3. That’s it. Don’t whine and push for Reach to become more like Halo 3, just play Halo 3. I get it, the forums are here to express opinions and what not but…it annoys me to know end when people ask for “Classic Versions of gametypes in every MM playlist” or “ZB and sandbox weapons.” As a matter of fact, go to the Classic Slayer Playlist and knock yourself out (which could understandably host the ZB phenomenon that people seem to go crazy over.) For the most obvious reasons, most of the community that push for a Halo 3-esque Reach are just suffering from growing pains and should either get over it or play Halo 3. As I prior stated, this is all community based so I would be more than happy to tackle any concerns directed at moi.

I was happy with reach as it was. I sometimes try and go back to playing halo3 but it just seems to dated now. Im surprised how few people are on halo3 mm. No most of the people who complain about reach still for some strange reason prefer to play it rather than their “perfect” halo 3

Halo 3 has garbage net code.

About -Yoink!- time someone said it.

Reach has more population, better netcode, and hitscan. Halo 3 has Mexican hosts, boosters, and second accounters.

Forge sucks.
Laggy games.
Low population.
Reach has potential, its just sucks at the moment.

They have a “everyone here likes reach” website, you should go there. That way wou wouldnt have to create controversy on a community that you neglect that you didnt spend sufficient time thinking on, go to that website. Thats it. Dont whine and push for this community to become more like you, just go to the other website. I get it, the forums are here to express oppinions about people you dont like and what not but, it annoys me to “know(?)” end when people complain “about other people”. As a matter of fact, you could not look at the posts!

I think ive showed the hypocriticism enough.

I understand what you’re trying to say, but the problem is very few players play halo 3 now. This means that it takes much longer to find games. Halo 3 also lags and has the BR spread. What we want isn’t Halo 3, we want Halo. Halo Reach, although a good game, is so different from previous Halo games, with the additions of bloom and AAs being a huge reason for this. I feel that we, as fans of the series, deserve to have a playlist with classic settings (I honestly don’t feel that the Classic Playlist counts). This does not take away from those who enjoy Reach as it is, but it satisfies the needs of a large community of people. I don’t see any harm in wanting settings more similar to H3.

Halo 3 was a good game, what’s wrong with wanting this game to be more like if it would improve the overall gaming experience? How about instead of not wanting Reach to actually play like “Halo” you find another game?

Couldn’t have said it better.

You mean ,More like HALO!!

We don’t want Halo 3, we want A HALO game. Reach has MANY things over H3 including Netcode, Graphics, population, and maintenance. Most importantly the fact that anyone who is a big fan of Halo, has probably played THOUSANDS of games of h3. The same maps thousands of times. We want something “fresh” and “new” but we still want it to be fundamentally Halo, which many things about Reach are not.

At this point, I don’t think anyone is asking for the entire game to be altered. Now that 343 shows they will pay some attention to the hardcore Halo players, all we want is playlists that are fun to US. Along with things that would benefit everyone, or at least not affect anyone who didn’t like it (ex: more “ranked” playlists, modification to the Arena formula, etc).

I’m sorry you don’t want to waste 8 seconds of your break from your pre-algebra homework reading a post that you do not agree with, but unfortunately for you, the world doesn’t cater to your every whim. You stated in your OP that you “understand the forum is for expressing opinions”, yet you complain about it? Maybe YOU should get off the forum if you can’t handle that people use it for the exact reason it exists.

Also, Clearly it isn’t “growing pains”, as 343 is attempting to bring Halo back to it’s roots while not -Yoink!- off the entitlement generation. This game has been out for over a year and the complaints have not subsided from day one. I can almost guarantee the majority of those who are complaining have “adapted” far more extensively than those who do not complain. The reason people are complaining is because they adapted extensively to a previous halo, and now something completely different comes out called “halo” and we’re like uuuuh wtf. Those who never “adapted”, only see “hey it’s the mister chief, kill times are longer than CoD, and weapons spawn on the map, must be halo”, don’t have a problem because that’s all they see halo as. Those of us who actually are knowledgable on Halo mechanics can easily pinpoint the dramatic and fundamental changes.

4 seperate playlists

CE
H2
H3
ODST(FF only)

No one is mad anymore.

Problem I think not

> Halo 3 has garbage net code.

main reason I stopped playing.
when reach came out I planned to play, and rank up in both.

both games were great to me, but since halo 3 has garbage netcode, no hitscan with the BR, and terrabad walmart hosts: I play halo reach.

-.-

how about halo reach playlists with 85% mechanics and 120movent/jump, and 2 - 4 “anniversary playlists” with capped magnum RoF, no DMR/NR, and anniversary halo settings.

Also, get rid of FF arcade, it is a scourge. To any FF fan, you know that reach’s FF limited is still good, no one plays though because they want easy AFK cR.

H3 is terrabad now, and there isnt a difference between halo 2 and 3 with hitscan. If you want a h2/3 playlist take the magnum off secondary in zb and make one for that.

Thank god there is someone with common sense

OK, I want to clear some things up:

First, Halo 3 is plagued with lag and long search times.
With that out of the way I’ll say what I really want to say: No one wanted a direct remake of Halo 3 and no one is against innovation.

What we are against, however, is change for the worse. See, we all want Halo to expand upon itself and to move forward. We do not want it to move backwards and we do not want it to move sideways.

all change is not good change. when some one says they want the game to be more like halo 3 they mean they want to take its good elements and replace reach’s bad elements with them.

by saying no to this, you are pretty much saying you want bad things to stay bad just to avoid their being any similarities with the past games.

silly.

The only thing that I dislike in Reach is that you cannot choose to play as an Elite in all games other than Invasion. I bought reach just to play MM as an awesome looking Elite Ultra.

hey bro, if you shoot your DMR at mid range flawlessly, and i shoot in the worst way possible and fail around with my aim, who should win?

which is greater?

A.) 3 DMR shots and 1 melee
B.) 1 melee?

the only time ‘neglected’ here is the time you havent spent understanding how the mechanics in reach are blatantly suboptimal, and the implications of said suboptimal mechanics on the way the game functions as a whole.
