People That Respect the GA in Ranked

Well, ouch. You sure showed me!

That’s nice, don’t care. We should rename GA to BA, since it’s more along the lines of -Yoink!- more then anything.

Your ability to only engage with what I’m saying on a surface level shows your inability to understand the issue.

Not to mention you’re blatantly ignoring why I even posted in this topic.

I’m guessing WUFTY is frustrated because it really is a problem in Doubles which is the only thing he (or she) plays. Having two people with grapples and swords on the same team is a really not very fun situation.

I agree it’s really not all that broken in Open. But in Doubles, which to be fair is already pretty close to Fiesta given how quickly power weapons spawn and how frequently 3-4 people on the map have them at a given time.

It’s more of a structural problem with that playlist overall, really. Need to tone power weapons and Tier 2s down in my opinion.

Doubles is open season as far as I’m concerned. Honestly Recharge and Catalyst shouldn’t be in the doubles rotation at all.

Well, that’s my point. Doubles is not a serious competitive playlist, same as Solo queue. There’s a reason it’s not played professionally. So… GA there seems kind of unlikely.

As far as Ranked, Open Crossplay is the only HCS-aligned playlist and the primary concern for balance, etc. But doesn’t mean Doubles shouldn’t get some changes… like yeah, Catalyst is miserable for doubles.

There have always been 2v2 & FFA tournaments played professionally. 4v4 is just the staple.

Funnily enough, Infinite plays best in both (FFA/2v2), I hate the 4v4 experience.

Is there 2v2 in HCS? If so, then I take back my statements! I honestly don’t know that much about pro halo, I’ve just never seen anything but 4s.

I’m not certain as to current but I’m pretty sure there was an FFA tournament at Orlando.

Yeah, I said there’s no wrong way to play to be contrarian. Totally. This is sarcasm

Pffft. That’s adorable.

To all people out there, if someone tells you your bad for using the sword in game and you shouldn’t you use. Just kindly remind them that they can go F themselves lol. This, is the right way to play!

You can dislike a weapon, you can not use it yourself. But the instant you tell others how to play, and tell them they’re wrong for doing other wise, no one in their right mind should care what you have to say ever again going forward. You lose every ones support. This includes belittling them for using something you feel they shouldn’t.

The sword is and will always be fair play if it’s in the game.

Because I can . I don’t want this train of thought that dictates how others can play to ever get any traction.

I was low Onyx when I tried to climb. I’ve played players between low diamond and 1900. Guess what…
Everyone used the sword.
Everyone used the mangler.
Everyone used the drop combo.
Everyone used rockets.

The way I’ve seen it:
Casual vs causal = use anything to win.
Casual vs pro (99.999% of people on this forum are not pro) = use anything to win.
Pro vs pro (probably no one seeing this post, or know it even exists) = probably using the GA.

I’m telling you no is what I’m saying. If I jumped into ranked and want to use sword, I have ever right in the game to use the sword. You have absolutely no right to tell me other wise.

I can agree with you here. If anything, they only should have changed it (Mangler) from T1 to T2. Problem solved. Melee’s weren’t broken at all prior to nerfing it.

3/5 maps in the doubles rotation don’t have sword spawns. Suppose that must mean I lose 3/5ths of the time.

If it’s my crutch then I suppose it begs the question why my KD & KDA are higher than yours. According to the doubles ranked playlist;

My general and headshot accuracy is higher than yours.

My winrate is higher than yours. You’ve played 173 matches, I’ve played 162.

You gonna tell me the win difference and 100 CSR difference is because of the sword? No.

Stop pretending you’re better than people for arbitrary reasons.

lmao

Randoms in matchmaking aren’t obligated to abide by GAs that other players set. If I choose to use the sword, I will: the same goes for the mangler.

Instead of shaming other players into playing your way, maybe you should lower your expectations when going into matches?

Side note, can we talk about how wacky Doubles CSR is? I’m still seeing people in Gold and Platinum that crush and then I see they’re Onyx in Open.

For a while everyone placed like Gold 3 regardless of skill or performance, and I think then maybe they patched that and new people placed in higher, but a fair number of people who originally placed low ended up staying there because they don’t care/don’t play enough to grind up to their actual MMR.

It’s totally whack. I had to grind from plat 3 to Onyx 1700. (Where I am now.) Still haven’t hit a plateau. But yea, FFA placements are the same it seems.

Correct, it matches on MMR which actually makes it relatively more challenging to level up from gold - you’d still expect only around 50% winrate so it takes time to grind up, many people don’t play much doubles so they haven’t taken the time. as a result, peoples’ CSRs are all over the place.

I think it’s interesting you think you’re better than like the 4 people in this thread that have higher current or peak ratings than you, and you justify that it’s because you use a GA that doesn’t exist outside HCS and tournament play. Wouldn’t you start using the sword as soon as the other team does? If so, why does your GA stance affect your CSR relative to other players? It shouldn’t affect how much you win or lose if you match what the other team is doing.
