Is that possible? I was playing the playlist that was added during the last weekend and the map was plaza. So, as you know there’s a part on this map where’s a van that you need to climb if you want to get where the sniper spawns, so I saw my enemy but before he climbed the completely he started shooting, even it seemed as if he was shooting sideways. Maybe it was lag or something else.
You can check it in the Theatre.
Also, Lag?
Sounds like lag. Yeah you can look back in Theater, but even that isn’t guaranteed for an accurate look at the game.
It’s one of the arguments against Clamber. The fact that you can’t shoot while jumping/clambering, and all the other Halo’s you can.

Yeah, it seems it was lag. I checked it and it looks normal now.

I also believe it was lag, it’s just that I freaked out when I first saw that happen. LOL.
Really? I never heard about complaints about clamber but sprint only.
You see it alot (well i do at least) On their screen they already clambered and climbed. Sam with the melee where people can hit me from sword distance.
I also see this happen fairly often. Even though some call it lag I think its actually framerate drops. Or the proper term is micro stuttering. Personally I think H5 is riddled with these. Very hard to identify. But one of the easiest ways to notice this is when one is in heavy engagement there will be these type of micro stuttering/framerate drops. These are tiny micro type. Which many don’t even recognize. But watch your rate of fire. It will stutter a bit under these conditions. Which the outcome becomes unpredictable.

I haven’t really heard that argument before about clamber. Jumping and clambering aren’t the same thing, clamber is much more forgiving than a regular jump is even if you miss most of the time clamber will still allow you up the ledge.
The main thing have seen people complain about clamber is that it takes away from skill jumps. Normally you would have to do a crouch jump to reach larger heights but clamber reduces that need. Clamber also reduces the importance of height advantage since you can just climb up to the area like top mid on truth. It makes sense that you can’t shoot since your climbing up your arms aren’t free lol but it’s probably also a balance thing. There are some jumps you can still make without clamber though soo the crouch jump isn’t completely lost.
He could have jumped and zoomed in/stabilized… shot…then clambered and just looked like he shot and climbed at the same time.
This is connection latency caused by that person connecting to a server where they have a large latency to. Usually this would happen on ‘Expanded’ search preference, but depending on the MMR it placed you in while searching, it can easily push people who have ‘worse connections to a specified server’ to your game on balanced.
As for ‘can you’, the answer is no. The only thing you CAN do is ghandi hop and spring jump while shooting, and that could allow you to ‘not need to’ clamber to certain areas, which renders you still capable of shooting. Likewise, the better alternative would be just not to put yourself in situations where you would be needing to clamber and shoot lol.

Lots of people lump the two in together.
All clamber is, is a fancier jump that doesn’t let you shoot while jumping. There’s a pretty good video on it somewhere on YouTube.

No it’s not?
It’s a second chance mechanic which let’s you avoid any type of consequences of failing any jump where you can initiate clamber, for the small cost of not being able to shoot for the, at most second?, it takes to finish the animation.
What you’re describing is an assassination, and that’s not jumping.

I’m talking about the general jumps you could make with Halo 2-3’s higher jump height in combination with the lower gravity.
I hate second chance mechanics. You either make it… Or you don’t. It then pays to know what jumps the average player can’t make and the ones they can.

I have read posts about it here, on teambeyond, twitter, and YouTube. For me, the most important issue about it is the inability to shoot while clambering. In past Halo’s whether you made the jump or not you could shoot while you did it.
In terms of what’s happening in the OP I think we can all agree that the lag has returned to a bad state. Last night the rubber banding was so awful I quit playing for the evening, and it is rarely that bad.

Wondering if you can show us a quick video ??
