People run away too much

343 has made it so easy for people to run away from a gunfight. Every time I’m about to kill someone they would run away from me so I would need to chase them just to get my kill. By the time I catch them they’ll be with their teammates, then I get double teamed. It’s so annoying.

I don’t know who in 343 thought it was a good idea to make sprint a default feature. Better yet they made a perk that makes you keep your speed while sprinting when being shot facepalm

You ever met that idiot on the field who keeps fighting you, even after his shields are down? It’s probably me.
I never see people run away once engaged. If they spot a group making it’s way to them, they run, but 1 on 1 engagements I have been in have no running.
The people I play with realize that running is stupid. You don’t take down a shield, you simply run and increase the risk you will still die.
It boils down to (A) Run and die guarantee, or (B) Fight and risk death, but still knock the enemy up enough so you can jump them with IR.

i hate that. a guy is one shot so he just turns tail and runs around as many corners as he can. you turn the final corner and…boltshot your dead. so cheap. if they run away you have to let em go a lot of the time. you had em dead to rights but they turn on their jackrabbit impression.

only thing worse is the folks who you get the jump on and dont even try to fight they simply run away soon as you put one or two shots on em. at best its an assist but most of the time they run back to their other teammates for protection.

boring, slow, bad gameplay.

Are you using a BR?

Regardless of what gun I’m using people always do it. Especially on close range maps.

Should I just stop and let you kill me then?

Judging by that statement I’m guessing you’re one of the people that run away during gunfights because you can’t kill your opponent by yourself.

Kind of reminds me of the final battle between Ace and Pistola in the FFA tournament when Pistola had Ace weak and he ran away and crouched waiting for his shields to come back and then Pistola ran in after him only to be met with Concussion Rifle shots lol.

You shouldn’t have the option to run away, you should be punished for your failure to manipulate the situation, or your lesser skills. (Or their random Ordnance, but lets not talk about that here.)

exactly. if i catch you with your pants down you should die. not run away until teammates show up to save you.

LOL @ kids whining about people making themselves a hard kill.

Because we should just stand there and let you pad your k/d, right?

The object is to help your team win…staying alive accomplishes that goal. If you’re outmatched, make yourself a hard kill and stay alive, whether it involves running or no. There’s no point losing because you’re playing with some idiotic “honor system”.

It’s called ninjaing kids.

Well, the the thing is, you too wouldn’t be complaining about sprint if you could kill your opponent by yourself.

If they’re sprinting they aren’t shooting.

This is Halo, a game where you are supposed to be punished for not being good enough, not patted on the back because you can run back to your teammates, or spam a broken loadout system (think Boltshot)

If you could aim you wouldn’t have this problem.

The funny thing is I thought ‘matchmaking’ meant matching you with people your own skill. But obviously that rarely happens these days.

You know, in real life, I abhor people who ignore said honor system.
But I’m straying off topic. If you run, well bully for you, I’m sure you and your boltshot will be able to hoof it just fine.
Besides, a warrior stands tall in battle. I don’t tend to run when someone comes at me with an I-cannon, why should you run when someones starts shooting you with a rifle?

Because it’s the smart thing to do?

When people run away they don’t just run in a straight line. They turn around corners and other objects. For me to get my kill I need to chase them before their shields recharge. Unfortunately in Halo you can’t sprint and shoot at the same time.

Well I can aim. If people were good enough when it comes to 1v1 gun battles then they shouldn’t need to run away.
