as soon as the match loads into a game type someone doesnt like they just quit
cant really blame them that much since there is virtually no penalty whatsoever for doing so
i used to stick it out on a lopsided team but im done doing so…not playing 2v4 capture the flag just to take a loss for no reason
simple fix: you quit and automatically drop a rank…seems easy

Actually there is. if you report them and if enough people do, they could get banned from matchmaking and much more. And i do too.
the problem is that I have had a couple times where I have been disconnected. If I get that happen, the match acts like I quit and my rank would drop.
There’s some penalties.

youd have to quit a lot for any kind of penalty to take effect
yes i think as soon as you quit a match the penalty should take effect right then. the penalty is OBVIOUSLY not strict enough because as stated in the title of this thread. people seriously quit every other match i play. it is extremely annoying.
Luckily, my experiences haven’t been as bad as yours, about 10% may be. Some people might just have bad connection or something come up IRL. I got disconnected sometimes myself.
You can’t just give out penalty for just a few “quits” because you have to take bad connections into account. It is what it is. May be you are just having an unlucky day.
play with friends. no friends online atm?
invite players from past games to your Fireteam. Most will join as long as you did decent.

It’s because no one cares about ranks in this game. Heck, I’m a big rank guy, and I don’t even care. Especially since no one else can even see me or my rank.

Try it sometime. You might be surprised. Or have you not seen all the threads complaining about quit bans?
If you quit about 2-3 games within 1 or 2 of eachother, you will get quit banned. Trust me, that’s why I come here lol.
90% of statistics are actually made up.
There are penalties, you prolly just live in state with quitters, since the servers tend to find localish players for you.
I just hate it. Being stuck in a 2v4. Its like why. I report the people who leave even if there are 2 people left on the enemy team.
There not afraid to ban.

I have been having an issue where as soon as a game loads I’m kicked back to main menu that may be what’s going on don’t just jump the gun and say ppl are quitting this could very well be 343s fault abs you want to go punishing the player further?
A) Not true
B) I would love to see hard stats proving your point.
Any time I’ve kept track of it in my games, it’s been closer to 70 percent, which is abysmal.
To me, quitting remains a significant problem.
Really sucks when people quit in Arena, especially when you’re actually trying to get high ranks! I think that if you are a man down against a team with a higher amount of players, when/if you lose (90% of the time you will) you shouldn’t get demoted!
Am I the only one who doesn’t have this problem? Every so often someone quits but not a lot. It doesn’t really bother me anyways, I love the feeling I get from winning a 3v4
