People praise the gameplay but it's the reason why the game is in bad shape

We wouldn’t have desync and those problems has if they kept building the game they had. Since they scared the game they gave less time to developing the game we have now

I’ve been playing mcc again lately because infinite just doesn’t have that halo feel. And when I was playing some of my favorite maps, I thought, what if this map had a grapple shot or repulser for crazy maneuverability? In my head, it would totally ruin how the map was played. Sometimes more isn’t better. Previous Halos felt like the battles would build up as their positions began to converge. Now it’s instant and everyone is flying around all over the place!

Those can be fixed - well, I think desync actually will never be fixed because it’s reliant on the tick rate and 343 won’t spare money for better servers - and the game still won’t be any good. Halo Infinite is not a well designed game. It plays like crap.

Wait…… game they already had as in Halo 5? I might have misread you, but it really looks like that’s what you said. Dude, even if it had been the best halo ever made (Which it very much was not!) we would STILL be due for another game by now! it’s been like eight years since H5 came out! That’s easily the longest we’ve ever gone without getting a new FPS halo game. H5 wasn’t exactly doing too well anyway, so yeah. developing it further was not what we needed. as far as I’m concerned, Halo infinite is in the running for the best halo yet, and easily takes the best 343 game medal.

Thank you. You understand. The equipment is to much for the sandbox. The maps should tell the story
Not the equipment

I said that the INTENTIONAL game design choices are not the fault of the game’s failings. It is the problem that we have too many errors and system bugs that make the game unfun.

I definitely agree with the last point. This game is a weird compromise between other games that didn’t play all that similarly. Also, yea the maps aren’t very good. I think they have more issues than just sprint and clamber, but I agree there’s a negative effect there. Sprint and clamber, as much as I hate them, weren’t my biggest issues with the game tbh. It’s the fact that it feels like a “whoever shoots first wins” twitch shooter. The map design issues, coupled with dominant and easy to use AR and a nerfed radar (with faster movement to boot) just makes it feel completely different once you start playing online, even if it ‘feels’ like old Halo when you first load in

The thruster pack fixed that “whoever shoots wins first” thing. Too bad people don’t like it

For playing well it always has been lmao

Different strokes for different folks man. Honestly to me…the gameplay is tired and boring in many instances. It’s nowhere near as engaging as 5 felt. I was addicted to 5 from the beta until it’s end. The other day i re installed it and the handful of games I played were just way more fun. Players feel more unique to fight against. There’s so much dynamic stuff happening. However, for another person I’ve just described everything they disliked about it. It was fun mastering the movement in 5 and extremely satisfying. It beats the heck out of sliding off a box man…or looking down with the repulsor for a repulsor jump…

Halo infinite has nice upgrades despite the crap we all dealt with…lag…desync etc…but when I play infinite it feels like the only real fun I have is having a secondary for the drop combo. Nothing else feels that exciting. I’m tempted to play again because of the reset…but I feel like I’m going to experience all the same things with an artificial grind in place and just keep reminding myself that I’m not in love with the game and really only playing it because it’s the new one…and because I upgraded all this crap to have ready for it…new monitor…controller…xbox…better internet…i suppose the smart thing would have been to wait for the tech flight…l didn’t once think it was possible to be that unsatisfied with the experience playing it.

It’s cool for whoever loves the game though. Naturally some immediately fall in love with one of the halo games. Every single halo game that exists (yes even 4) is someone’s favorite halo game. When it’s the new one, thats always a great experience for the player.

I feel this on every level. Halo 5 was a lot more engaging. A lot more interesting fights. Halo infinite feels watered down.

With a full team I’m having a bit of fun in arena as we speak but fighting as an individual there is no playstyles anymore. Everyone is the on the same playstyle

I believe assasinations are coming back. Hopefully we get some cool ones (assault rifle in the back of the head anyone?)

I don’t think so. Assanations we’re on launch in every game it was in.

I remember watching a video pre launch on it. Someone had been dissapointed to not see any in the multiplayer trailer and asked 343, who responded in a dev live stream that they would come later

Assassinations are set to make a comeback, but to be added in as a customizable feature in a future season down the line.

My guess? Assassinations will play out from your end while your respawn timer is counting down after you die, whearas whoever killed you just sees a back-smack on their screen and continues on.

Hopefully they work like normal (maybe a damage resistance boost during the assasination?) and are just disabled in ranked

With all the lying 343 does why do you think they will come back?

343’s recent lies weren’t told with the intent of deceiving us. They were lies because they went back on their promises. Promises they meant to keep, but due to outside circumstances (investors wanting their money by “x” date on a signed contract) they had to backstab us.

OP I can answer this question.

People accept Halo Infinite despite all the problems you listed because 343 teased us with Infinite for 6 years, gave us small almost non-relevant info for 2, and gave us 1 year of somewhat decent info before dropping the flights.

Halo fans were STARVED for new content, and constantly teased with it, then got blueballed when the final release came around being the polar oppositie of what was promised, but because it was new content and the community was starved for content they took it anyway.

That makes sense. Starved for a new Halo game game so bad they will accept anything.

I mean think about it the last two years has been crazy in the real world. A lot of people just want to escape.

This is why a lot of players probably felt like this HAD to be a good halo no matter what because it it wasn’t then there would be nothing to look forward to.

I for one see through the veil. This game is hot garbage from every single veiw point you can think of. There is no defending anything in this game because if you do then there is always something ruining it anyways. Like the gameplay? Well too bad no collison and denyc ruin it. Like the cosmetics? Well too bad it’s overpriced and very little customization to begin with.

It almost seems like the made this game to spite us. I don’t know any other reason why they would intentionally destroy any good will they had left
