Halo 5 is a great FPS game. It’s very unique in itself because to me it accomplished something i’ve wanted in a competitive fps for a long time now.
The balance between offensive and defensive strategic gameplay is outstanding. All the spartan abilities are balanced and add depth in a non frustrating way like other games do, including past Halo games.
If you don’t like sprint, ADS, or new -Yoink- like ground pound, charging, sliding, floating while scoped, etc… well the answer is simple, don’t play Halo 5 and go play Halo 1 -Yoink-.
If you miss skill jumping/ crouch jumping go play older Halo games. why should every Halo game stay the same? This is 2015. All the changes 343 has done makes more an almost perfectly balanced Halo FPS experience, probably the best in the series, fast paced.
After the beta I went back to play halo MCC, and couldn’t help but miss playing Halo 5 because Halo 2/3/4 were frustrating at times due to the mechanics they don’t have from Halo 5.
Anyway I think u get my point. People don’t like change. At first I thought Halo 5 would suck, I disliked the art style alot.
Gameplay wise it’s fantastic, and if u can’t see that, well then -Yoink- stop hating.
If Halo 5 came out before Halo 2, people would think Halo 5 would be the best Halo game ever. If Halo 2 came out after Halo 5 (just imagine) people wouldn’t play it.
now, let the ignorant comments commence!

Easy, they weren’t.
But the core Halo gameplay has always remained in tact. Which shook abit with Reach, then a flat out great depression with Halo 4.
I agree about the core thing… Halo 5 doesn’t really feel like Halo to me, but it’s a great FPS game with Halo weapons lmao.

And that isn’t a good thing man. Halo 4 was also a relatively good game but holy smokes definitely not a good Halo game.
If a Halo 2 style game came out after Halo 5 as Halo 6 I would buy it. At the moment I am going to be Halo 5 second hand as to catch up on the story. Yes Halo 5 is a good FPS but not a good Halo. My MP experience will solely focus on TMCC.

The interesting thing is Halo 5 can be 343’s Halo 2, in terms of legacy. Depending on what they decide to do of course…
I’m personally very excited to play the final version this fall. I had fun with the beta, it’s a good blend of old school and new school.

- Way too early to say H5 is a great game.
- I did not experience the balance of offense and defense of which you speak.
- The new spartan abilities were amongst the most frustrating mechanics I have ever experienced in a Halo game.
- You didn’t mention it, but for me the overriding point of panic was the blinding speed at which this game took place. I was genuinely at a loss for how to deal with that.
That said, I’m all for everything that they’ve done, and the only reason I hate the new mechanics right now is because I didn’t have enough time to adapt to them over the course of a three week beta. (It continues to astonish me how most players can take to a new version of a game in minutes and play like a pro when I require months to adjust before I even begin to get comfortable. What is up with that?)
Lastly, your final comment hit the nail on the head. If 5 and 2 had been swapped at birth, 5 probably would be the greatest FPS ever. But it’s still too fast.

We were excited for Halo 4 as well… Be a bit cautiously mindful yes?
people need to let go of the delusion that this new failed halo fomula can work

Crawl back to your hole Sniper, we all know you don’t like the new gameplay. Stick to your own threads of hatred. You’re the only delusional one, 150,000 pre-orders plus already and they’re no where near launch. Sure the game might not last as long as Halo 3, but in today’s market, games simply due not last long. There is always something new and shiny out the next month to play.

No, that’s actually a very bad thing…!

Yeah, regardless if a beta is fun or not I don’t think it’s a good idea to pre-order games, as it promotes the idea that developers can release an unfinished product at launch and still get high sales regardless of it’s quality. I think its always better to wait a bit after a game comes out to purchase it. That being said I’m definitely buying this game.

considering we’re almost a year away from launch, and barely anything has been shown content wise, that’s not bad at all.
But letting go of the past is the main reason why anyone was even considering the future of the Halo games in the first place. I played Halo 5, most people I know hated the beta, I disliked it too but you can’t expect everyone to like it just because it’s new. If 343i aren’t open to criticism then I don’t see how there going to make any money off it.
Sure there’s a lot of people hating on H5 because there passionate about the franchise while they want the games to feel perfect because most of us loved the original Halo games because it felt amazing because it was unique and different but Halo 4,5 is neither of those.
