People have every right to be upset

I’m noticing an alarming trend of fanboys jumping down the gullet of anyone that thinks a launch like this is unacceptable.

We’re all here because we love Halo (except for a few trolls) but to defend this launch is ridiculous and many of you are acting like a batted spouse (he’s had a rough week but he’s promised to take me out dancing next week, oh what’s this? I walked into a door).

This is one of the worst launches in Xbox history and by far the worst Halo launch but it is also systematic of the modern game industry that so often releases poorly-tested, broken software only to patch it later. They get away with this as gamers are always after the new hotness and sycophantic fanboys will defend their console or game of choice with an almost religious zeal.

In the end we are consumers that were sold faulty goods and we have every right to be upset.
But hey, if anyone here tells you to “relax” or “don’t worry about it” then you should feel pity for them because they are at best spineless doormats and at worst mindless fools.

Oh and spare a thought for the poor -Yoinks!- that bought an Xbox for this.

This is a section for posting bugs and getting support… not complaining. please move along.

Before the fanboys come in, i agree with you man!

Here we go OP… Didnt take long for you to call 343’s husband to the party. Lol

You are comparing the launch of a video game, to domestic violence against women?

I’ve noticed that games that’s being released are getting more problems than ever before every year.

I think games is the only thing in the world where you get surprised if it works day one. It has become a habit for games not to work at launch and it’s the only form of entertainment where it’s kinda OK, we’re expecting the games not to work at release.

If I’d buy a car, a movie or a router that couldn’t get my internet to work the first 2 weeks because I need an update that doesn’t exist yet I’d be really pissed of and I would have gone to the store and demanded a refund because the product doesn’t work but with games that’s not the case.

You really just compared people defending 343 to a domestic abuse victim? Then that makes you no better than the person committing the crime. You have a solid argument, people do have a reason to be upset, but that example made your argument invalid, and made yourself sound like a horrible human being.

Comparing a victim to a victim makes me no better than the perpetrator? That’s a great argument you have there, if you’re going to be the PC police at least do it right.

Not just fanboys. People who see no reason to act like 343I killed your family.

It’s a broken game. They’re fixing it, so wtf is the point to being upset? All it does, is make everyone(including you) feel bad.

Oh they have every right to be upset; but they have no right to complain. You guys put absolutely no effort into going to the store and paying for this game. Did you lend a hand in the development of it? I didn’t think so. We can all be upset as much as we want, but complaining like babies is pathetic.

If you do not voice your displeasure as a consumer at buying a faulty product then you are helping perpetuate the problem and AAA broken games will continue to be the norm.

Thank you! I completely agree that anyone who defends this kind of thing is blind. This generation of gaming is overly tolerant of issues in a game they spent $60 for. Though I’m sure that most of those people are fine with that because their parents bought it for them, or they’re fanboys/girls who put up with the series’ crap anyways. I’m sorry, but when I pay $60 for a video game, I expect it to be finished and bug tested in advance! And giving the excuse “Other games do it, you can’t be upset” is a fallacy! There’s no excuse for ANY game developer to allow that. I give other games crap for even less. When I was growing up as a kid, game developers weren’t allowed to be lazy and ship an unfinished and unpolished game, because they weren’t able to update it afterwards. Just because they have the ability to, does not mean they should rely on that, especially when the game is this broken. They should have held back the release, and released a FINISHED product!

Hell, I think part of the reason the industry is this way is BECAUSE of people tolerating it. Devs see that they can just get away with mediocrity, and still make money, and still have people defend them and buy their future products. If people would actually hold devs up to some actual standards, and not take garbage from them, maybe we’d actually get complete games on release date like the good old days. That’s why I’m voicing my opinion right now. And anyone who wants to try and defend their precious 343 against our opinions because it’s how all the games are these days is absurd.

But more importantly, STOP trying to tell us we shouldn’t be upset. Like the OP said, we have a RIGHT to be upset, and it is our responsibility to hold developers to higher standards, and expect a game to be complete when it ships. As is, I feel completely ripped off, especially since I bought an Xbone for this game AND digitally downloaded it, so I can’t even return the game if it came down to that. But in the end, if matchmaking isn’t fixed to be at least as functional as their previous game, then 343 has lost a customer. I’m not going to be one of the people who puts up with this kind of crap. They need to be taught that this lack of effort is not tolerable, regardless of what may be the “norm”.

I never stated you didn’t have the right to be upset. All I said was you have no right to complain. Complaining is not going to get them to fix it any faster.

Are you serious?! The $60 I spent on this game, and the $400 I spent on the console say you’re absolutely wrong. I have every right to complain. In fact, it’s my responsibility to. If we don’t complain, then we are essentially telling Xbox and 343i that this is acceptable, which it most definitely is not.

Edit:
Also, who said I was even directing that to you in the first place? Egotistical much?

I’m most certainly serious. The way these forums have been acting the past few days makes me ashamed to call myself a Halo fan. You all are constantly crying about the fact that the game is broken and some are even threatening to return their games/consoles. No offense, but we don’t need toxic community members clouding these forums with hate and ignorance. You’re right to be upset about it, as am I. And you are correct that it is not acceptable, however, coming to these forums just to -Yoink- isn’t going to help.

Well he is right this topic shouldn’t be in this forum common sense should prevail

This says otherwise. I have the right to complain.

And if nobody gave 343i a hard time, then the problem would just continue to happen in every other game they release.

Also, I’m not writing this as a Halo fan that you feel so ashamed to call yourself. I’m writing this as a consumer. One who isn’t going to put up with being sold an unfinished product.

Ok but what if complaining is not kill?

Look at you bringing in political rights. If I weren’t American, that wouldn’t affect me.

And you act as if this is going to start some glorious revolution of consumers vs developers. It’s cute.
