Kill times are actually in between CE and h2, that’s about as halo as you can get.

Movement speed is being increased as the player base asked. It’s also difficult to nail movement speed as its actually all over the place in the original games.

I’m here because I have an opinion, just like you. People like YOU should shut up, because you obviously have no idea what Halo feels like. Oh wait, that argument doesn’t work? Neither does yours. You’re probably the same guy who defends the MCC’s problems and how Halo 4 “evolved” the franchise. Enjoy Halo 5 having the same 3 month lifespan as Halo 4. It IS being Codified, just wait until they use the low population numbers in MCC as an excuse to claim classic Halo isn’t well received and further “evolve” Halo by just copy and pasting features from other games instead of making actual meaningful change to their game.

To me, I think it’s on its way to become CoD. The musical score went from ancient and epic to techno and underwhelming, classic weapon designs hmmSPNKR being changed to fit a modern military interpretation, changing features on weapons that are functionally the same for no reason other than to appeal to kids who need every game to play their favorite modern military shooter. Is it still Halo? Yes, but it’s on its way out. And with people like Readyuplive and Halo5follower leading the hype (remember how good Halo 4 turned out to be after riding that hype train?) the vast majority will side with them, forgetting how all of these new abilities are impacting the game.

Kill times × a thousand!!! Where have you been this whole time?! I thought I was the only one! Kill times are THE biggest issue in H5. There are certainly others but the greatness that is Halo is being able to get shot and turn and kill a dude/chick or 2 with LEARNED game mechanics. Can’t respond with military shooter like kill times.

What makes you guys think MS brought them here to give us the same wheel? 343 never promissed a classic halo. They said they will bring it back to its arena roots and make the changes that do not go against their vision.

Whether or not they promised they would give us one is irrelevant. Their “vision” is a high sale, low retention shooter that rakes in cash but will ultimately lose its population in a rather quick time. Cue 343 promising they will make the next one better and that mistakes were made on this one, and they can go at it forever. Would I trust Bungie to deliver us a classic Halo experience? No. Especially not with the team that created Destiny.

Well the reason i responded that way was because of the amount of constant negativity and unconstructive critisizm 343 recieves, i just blew up, sorry for overreacting, but as a halo fan it really hurts to see trolls everywhere, i guess i fought a lost cause…

And no i never defended TMCC, if you would stop being that ignorant, you would know that i made a thread where i let out my frustraiton about tmcc severe problems. Yes i do like h4, but i am a casual mp guy, i am more in for the campaign, and then i like playing mp, to have some fun and get better, anyway i apologize if i sounded stupid.

That is fair to say, and I agree. I just tried to explain the generic-ness by comparing it to the twitch military shooters out there. I could see where what I said was a little confusing.

When 343i/Microsoft said that Halo is coming back it is expected that it is actually Halo and not a generic shooter with the Halo name attached to it. It’s like saying that Star Trek is coming back and then turning it into a mindless action movie. Oh wait…

That’s not what fans of the series want. When they are told that something is coming back they are actually expecting it to come back.

You hardly even play halo, I would say you play all the fps regularly so you can’t tell a difference.

Halo 4 felt like they took Halo 2/Halo 3 and added “modern” things to it, such as sprint ordnance, and perks. If you take all that away it is a very good Halo game, and the BTB gametype in the MCC shows that.

The beta felt like they took a generic military twitch shooter and added shields, static weapon spawns, hipfire, and even starts. In that regard it is more like Crysis and/or Destiny, which I think it is. The only thing keeping Halo 5 from being a full blown generic shooter is that hipfire is still a thing. But based on the direction 343i wanted to take it in the beta I am worried for Halo 6.

Can we at least all agree that it’s absolutely hilarious how “CoD-ing” and “CoD-ifying” are insults of choice when talking about any game?

I mean that series is so bad that the franchise name has actually become a verb that’s used to describe when good games turn bad.

And this isn’t something you can be wrong with to begin with. Halo holds different meanings for different people.
