People complain Infinite has "No Customization" - So I did the MATH

I am a long time Halo fan and player and I do have a defined look that I like to have. I also like having options to change the way I look. With the system as is I can’t be any of the colors I’d like to be and I can’t use the shoulders with the helmet I want either. All because of this super restrictive and monetized cosmetic core system. People only have limited options in multiple areas. If you’re a free player you don’t really have much choice. Day 1 is always limited because you need to earn the armor. In Infinite on day one your options were nothing unless you paid money. Buy armor now or pay for the Battlepass and play some to unlock a small amount of armor. When I played Reach I had ODST armor in a day and I continued to wear the shoulders for the rest of my Reach play time. Which I never had to pay for any of the armor other than the box price and other items weren’t locked behind a paywall or challenge gate.

The customization in Infinite screams
“BE A PAYING CUSTOMER OR BE DEFAULT!”

you need to divide this

because of armor cores

I think you missed the “on the battlefield” part, pal.

Ok, joking, but seriously, many people I came across, myself included, wore the default armor. And default color too. It was like they didn’t even bother. Yeah I also saw few Yorois here and there, maybe few cat ears too, but that was pretty much it.

I’m familiar with warframe, but I’ve heard that it has a really robust color system.

Oh it does you can use so many pallettes its insane

Heck they have one that’s just different shades of white and black

Theres a reason why there’s a customization scene in that game with the nickname of fashionframe

Imagine defending halo infinite.

Ngl i used to defend it but i got burned

I haven’t spent money on cosmetics and have grand total of two chest pieces and like five or six helmets in HI after several hundred hours of play, and I can’t even mix half of those with one another. At this stage in H5 I had hundreds of options all entirely compatible.

H5 customization is entirely earnable in-game except rare-exceptions, HI is almost all un-earnable except rare exceptions. I can’t even choose what color my Spartan is.

So, you can guess which system I prefer.

Yeah I’m shocked that people don’t see how hard it is to make anything that looks ‘good’ in this game.

Nice calculation…now do MCC…or factor in how much of Infinite is behind a paywall…or factor in how meaningful the customization actually is (2x 30 colours is worth infinitely more than a thousand coatings). Nice try tho.

I have already done all of the calculations that you have requested and published them in a previous post in this thread.

I’m too am down for bringing back loot boxes

Normally Loot Boxes leave a sour taste in my mouth, but at this stage, I would love Loot Boxes back

I’ve never understood the flawed logic that less is “better”.

When options are taken away it doesn’t matter how many items are added to the game. It sucks and people with express how much it sucks.

Take Destiny 2 for an example. Not a great game, but you have a hell of a lot more freedom for free. 343 wants you do buy and you still don’t even come close to the freedom in Destiny.

Sorry, not sorry, infinite is not worth spending any money on any cosmetics when I can have triple if not quadruple the options for customization for free.

Meanwhile in MCC it took me far, far less time to unlock almost half the things season 8 has to offer. And I did that despite ignoring challenges, like I always did. I never looked at them either.

Literally I can unlock things even without thinking about it.

Free, easily earnable random armor unlocks > near-exclusively paid armor unlocks

For me, at least.

So many people here cant face the truth that there are more options here than ever before in Halo. Hilarious, you all really just want to make yourselves miserable.

make 3 cool outfits for each core

If you’re referring to the Season 1 BP art with 6 spartans (2 in a warthog), then:

CQB. Yes, it’s in the game, but it hasn’t been released yet. You can see it on one of the Spartans in the warthogs.

Options matter little if you cannot use them as you could in the past. that is more freely and flexible.
