either your full of it or you have played the game in a 100% effort to pas your K/D stats. Go into KOTH and toss nades from a distance etc. The pros K/D’s are like 1.7-1.9 range. Ninja is a 1.8 for example.
It is kind of pointless, I sort of get / am reading into he is upset with people bashing on his own K/D when really K/D does not even matter anyways. Just a modern gaming thing. Personally I dont like bragging about my K/D, its stupid.
I remember the gold old days of Halo where K/D was only an important stat in Call of Duty and it wasn’t the K/D that mattered in Halo but the Win/Loss ratio. To rank up, you had to win games.
Well speaking as somebody with a KD of 2.5, why am I full of it?
I play Infinity Slayer
I play BTB (Slayer)
I play Dominion and help capture bases (Have both the base offense and defense commedations maxxed, going for wins now, so I’m constantly pushing bases and trying to win so I can get Dominion Master and never have to go back. Since Dominion is constantly low population I’m just trying to get it before they enivitably remove it)
I play CTF, and my team is so far undefeated
Why is it hard for somebody to just be that good?
My dexterity isn’t even that good mate, it is mostly tactics.
Tactics > Aiming
You don’t have to stat pad or objective farm in order to get a decent KD, just try to help your team win and you’ll do fine.

Essentially, in a nut shell is he is saying dont go in with randoms and your K/D will be good.

Why aren’t you playing proffessionally then seeing as your K/D is superior to the pro players out there by a substantial margin? Obviously its not the only thing that matters, but still its a pretty good indicator.
Again check out stats from the best players in the world and you see around 1.8 K/D in matchmaking. Forgive my skepticism when random message board guy claims he has a superior ratio to people who play the game like 12 hours a day.
> You don’t have to stat pad or objective farm in order to get a decent KD, just try to help your team win and you’ll do fine.
That’s the thing. Helping your team win doesn’t always get you a good K/D. In fact, in many game types it can result in a negative one but you can be the reason they won the game.
King of the Hill, Odd Ball, Capture the Flag… sometimes your team provides the cover while you do the dirty work, getting more beaten around while you’re at it.
That’s why historically, K/D never mattered in Halo but it was the Win/Loss ratio that mattered. In Halo 2 and 3, it didn’t matter how well you did, you had to win the game.
It took a little while before I was matched up against people of my own skill level. The first week I was at 2.9 k/d. Now I’m at 1.8. So it’s not impossible for people to have a 3.5 k/d if they haven’t played a whole lot of games yet and are playing others who are worse than them. Halo 4 has only been out two weeks after all so give it some time to even out.
It’s just another way people are using a number to say they are superior to other people, just like number rankings in 2 and 3. I’m sure some people are that good and are nice people, but the ones that use it as their crutch to make the point “I am better than you” in an argument do it to make them feel better about themselves.
> Why are we talking about K/D in a mostly objective based game?..
I know, right? That’s why it sucks that it’s even in there. Halo has always been about winning, but now it’s becoming more of having a good K/D like Call of Duty games, unfortunately.
The multiplayer is still a blast, but I miss the good old days where you had to win the game.

Who me? I go in with randoms constantly. Check my game history. I do lead a clan but unfortunantly they enjoy BO2 more than H4, so I’m constantly going in solo.
You JIP, lose the first match, find somebody to join up with, just continue until you have a semi-decent team.
You can go in with randoms no problem, just gradually build up the team from each game to the next.

The difference being, however, the level number in Halo 2 and 3 indicated that the player was in deed good in completing the goal of the game - winning. Whatever the playlist, they worked with their team to complete the objectives and win, not simply focus on having a good K/D.
Having a good K/D does not make you a ‘good’ player if you still don’t win games.

I don’t play nor attempt to play professionally due to nerve damage in my hand from Iraq. Anybody who plays with me knows I’m a decent shot, but nowhere near the consistency of pros. Like I said, most of my KD is through tactics.
Additionally pros typically play against other pros, while I just enjoy BTB as I find it to be the full Halo experience (AAs and Vehicles). You can hardly compare the two.
They play against other pros
I play public games against randoms.

You’re the one who made the angry thread about K/D my friend, not the guy who you responded to. He just threw in his 2 centavos, that’s all.

Nah I am talking about their matchmaking K/D’s where they are playing random people and often are teaming with other pro’s themselves so they have good teammates.
Ninja’s K/D is 1.88, Goofy is 1.75. Those are the two guys who won the most recent tournament.
