There needs to be added a higher win inecentive. I have played many games of Dominion today, and I just watched 1 of them on theater - People are afraid to go into the bases of the risk of ruining their K/D. They are stat -Yoink!-, not tryin to win. I followed 1 guy on the entire game because he killed me ingame. I made him noshield and chased him, but he suddenly disappeared and I turned around and got sniped in the back by a binary rifle. I just wanted to know where he went, and he went invisible, but thats not really the point, the point is that he was doing that the entire game. He was just sitting back at their 1 base and sniping people that sometimes popped their head out from inside bases. If this was Halo 3 where people only got exp for winning their entire team would be rushing us, instead of trying to gain a better K/D.
In many other games I have also felt me being the only 1 going for the objective and asked myself: What is my team doing?.
There needs to be more exp for winning a game so people actually try to win. Getting your exp doubled if you won would be good. Any true-skill system based purely on w/l would be good too. If it again were based on K/D like it was for a little timw on Reach people would camp, have no teamwork and litterally just kill their own teammates to get better weapons so they could get more kills.
> How do you know they aren’t going for commendations instead of their K/D?
Obviously I don’t know that, but commandiots goes up as you play wether you win or lose (the exp will come sooner or later), but you do lose those 400 exp if you lose the match.
One thing is certain and that is that people aren’t caring enough to win because you barrely get anything.
More exp wouldnt make me want to win anymore than I do now
However if there was some kinda ranking system then everyone would be trying to win no matter what their stats show
1 - 50 is the only way to fix this. I’ll admit I stat -Yoink!- as well, because the only skill gauge we currently have as a community is K/D. I hate it, but I’ll admit to it. I want a 1 -50 win and go up system. Halo is the most fun that way.
who really cares about the exp, the more you play the more you get, what incentive does a player have to get an extra 400, when they can go 10-1 20-5 etc… and have a lasting and meaningful (to them) number of kills per deaths show on their service record.

When we are playing with players that we don’t know, we tend to despise the goal. That’s a fact. I’m saying that because i care too much about my ratio (i think that i used to be something around 4.0 in another account and 2.40 in this one)because it’s an intimidation factor and it’s the first impression to the other players/clans. that’s sound a little bit ridiculous but, at all, makes difference.
It might help if there was a clearer breakdown/a change in the breakdown of your K/D on your service record.
For example, if it showed only your Slayer K/D then people wouldn’t feel the need to go in other playlists just to farm kills.
BETTER YET! If 343i let us customize our service record and pick what overall stats we wanted to display there, it might change a lot of this nonsense.
And, for me, it’s obvious that one guy who kills 20 enemies and does not die should win more EXP than a guy who are playing in the same team of the first one but dies 20 times and kills one or two guys… this thing does not make any sense.

If that’s how some people see it 343 should add W/L to your service record too. I look at win/loss ratio over kill/death ratio everytime.
A visible trueskill in-game is the only thing that would make me want to win more. I don’t care about exp or some progression rank.
And who pads stats in objective? All you have to do is protect the objectives and you’ll have plenty high k/d and in the process of winning the match. I capture bases in dominion then protect them like no other stopping the flood of enemies that try to take my base away.

When you are playing alone, W/L means as much as Ratio, buddy.
> Its the system they’ve set up. Who cares about winning, it doesn’t do anything for you.
I have very competetive mindset, and Dominion is the playlist that resembels the old playlists the best. I wan’t to win and I do get very angry when people are trying to selfishly get a better K / D instead of winning.
It will be the same as taking the fotball in a game of soccer and instead of scoring goals on the other team you score on your own team because it is easier and you just wanted some nics looking goals.
