Pegasus/Forge Maps

Pegasus needs serious spawn work. Also, is it getting priority in searches? I feel like it’s all I’ve played tonight.

Is the H5 actual game experience going to be primarily designed maps, or these forge throw-ins that frankly look cheap? My biggest gripe with Reach was that the selection of disk maps was pretty atrocious, and MM relied entirely on Forged maps. Halo 4 suffered the same. Haven was decent, but customs were needed for any real good 4v4 gameplay (think Simplex).

I agree with you to an extent. Forge is an amazing community tool, and some great stuff has come of it, but thats exactly what it should be, A COMMUNITY TOOL.

343 should not be using to it make maps, i want to see maps designed from the ground up from 343, i get sick of seeing the same boring, uninspired grey metal in matchmaking over and over again.

I’m currently undecided on the whole truth and regret similarities (they’re at least different enough) and the eden/can’t remember it’s name similarities. subtle changes that do affect gameplay, and it’s really an unprecedented amount of maps for a beta, so I’m not too worked up, but I hope there’s significant variety on the final cut. I’d take slightly-different official maps over forged versions anyway though.

i wish 343i would’ve done more with erosion and impact in h4. I know they were sandboxes, but they were truly beautiful environments. bummer to weigh
them down with all those grey bricks:)

Pegasus is one of my favorite maps. Haha. Only problem is over on left there’s not enough cover.

I agree, the maps for Reach and 4 were pretty terrible and no amount of forge is going to change that. We need some good, developer made maps.

You must have really low standards in map quality…

Pegasus is awful

That’s an opinion. I hear you. However, it stands that out of all the 7 maps we saw. Pegasus was my favorite.

I hate Midship, always have, Empire is ok, but honestly, there are to many places that look like you should be able to clamber up, that you can’t.

Just my opinion.

my problem with Pegasus is how high ground works in halo. we all know the high ground is usually superior. on Pegasus, you get a shadow for cover if you’re up top, so no one down low can even see you (especially for blue team). the low spawns are awful. I’ve been sniped multiple times before I even regain control of my spawning character. in this beta, with no skill searching, the better team will easily control the top, and the power weapons, and there is then no chance for the opposing team to even challenge the superiors. this isn’t really even map control, it’s absolute domination. I haven’t had competitive games on it, all have been slaughters one way or the other.

Blue team doesn’t seem balanced with Pegasus at start… I feel like a lot of issues would be resolved with BRs being gone form starting weapons though. Seems like Red team gets height and spawn advantage as well as power weapon access…

I agree entirely. I fealt that SO MUCH when playing.
