Pegasus - best map for H5 Slayer so far!

I would like to say that out of all of the H5 Beta maps that I have played so far ,especially on slayer, that Pegasus is the best of them all, creates awesome lines of site and is a very un-predictable map. Caters for mid range and close range as well as long range combat. My opinion?

What you think?

I think it has poor flow i.e. players either camp up at light rifle spawn or sniper spawn. Hardly anyone moves around the lower parts of the map. Just my observation of this map.

I thought it was pretty bad.

Then again, Truth is the only good map in the beta.

Every Halo map has sections in which players tend to camp or spend disproportionate amounts of time.

That said, I would provide a better reason to travel through the lower “PIT” region of the map. Maybe spawn the Rocket launcher down there? You could spawn a slightly less powerful weapon like the light rifle on the bridge area where the rocket launcher now spawns.

I feel like the map’s too one-sided. As soon as a team gets control over the top it’s game over especially if they have power weapons.

Which isn’t too hard to do when Rockets spawn so close to them and they have a controlling sight line to Sniper… Not to mention all the main routes to said power position are extremely long and exposed…

I prefer the lower “pit” sections of this map for the very reason that they aren’t that exposed, I’ve almost never been killed in the lower regions, which makes for good cover.

Another reason why i like this map is that with the thrust and clamber abilities you can get across the map without even touching the ground in some instances.

Pegasus is a terrible map. Red spawn has a huge advantage over Blue spawn at the very beginning. You get rockets control and then team shot the blue team who went to get sniper and then you get sniper control. Game over, GG. There is absolutely no movement in this map since you just camp at Red base, unless you are destroying the other team, in that case your team will move around and goof off.

There is a lot of action that happens at the LR spawn, Rocket spawn, and sniper spawn, but what about the other part of the map. If they moved sniper spawn to that part of the map then it could create for more spread out fights and the power weapons wouldn’t be as close to each other. Or if sniper was moved into the inside building in the middle of the map. That would make both teams have to be aggressive if they wanted to push for the rockets or the sniper rather than it being so one sided.

Yeah, I did suggest to developers in v2 Feedback thread that a power weapon should spawn down the bottom of the map, let’s hope they listen to our advice.

I really like Pegasus as well, but the spawns could use some work.
I really want to try orion though. :frowning:

I also really love Pegasus and my partner does too.
I got my first Perfection on Pegasus.

I can’t stand Pegasus at all. It just doesn’t play well and has no real flow to it, poorly designed imo.

because of the dull grey background all the time, enemies are easy to spot on this map. do agree, the physical model of the map I like, but the spawns and weapon placements could be looked at

I really do love it. Power weapon control is KEY to victory.

keen to check out orion

I wasn’t under the impression anyone EVER liked the Pegasus map. It’s easily one of the worst halo maps literally ever made. If 343i releases multiple forge maps like these disgustingly lazy and pathetic maps like Pegasus and Orion, I may very well not even buy this game… 343i so far has no idea how to make a halo map. Halo 4? Terrible, terrible maps aside from a very select few (only two that I recall liking). And so far the maps we’ve seen in beta are boring. Truth and regret are decent because they are basically midship remakes. But everything else has been -Yoink-.

I had the most fun on Pegasus, some great areas for battles to occur, lots of long range sight lines and jumps and two interesting power weapons to control that tend to balance each other out a bit. Unless the enemy has both and then, goodnight.

The same as it is on any other halo map… The problem here is that red spawns closer to both power weapons, and with immediate height advantage. Pegasus isn’t a good map.
