PEDs

Watching ESPN this morning, I couldn’t help but think about how competition, by its nature, will drive those without integrity to grasp at an illicit advantage. I wonder if there is some fanatical subset of the gaming community that abuses prescription drugs to increase their focus.

O_o Does 343 need to implement random screening for the global championship?

I believe some people back in the MLG days took Adderall and other ADD medication in order to focus better.

Cripes… that is sad. I don’t care how competitive you are, taking drugs to augment video game performance is leaving the realm of healthy brain function.

It’s been a pretty big and debated topic within the Halo community. It is rare to nonexistent in other games(at least it isn’t reported).

I was pretty much just goofing around with this topic… I had no clue that it was actually something that was wide spread. I mean… there’s always some nut job that is going to get Homer Simpson’s face tatooed on his rear, but you wouldn’t think that would be something that is common enough to even warrant discussion.

This just in. John “#420xxQuickscopes” has just been caught using a modified controller with a turbo button. His team, ‘1337pr0s’, have just been disqualified for the season.

whoa! That’s not performance enhancing drugs. That is corking your bat (as a physicist, I would love to see someone attempt to quark a bat)! That’s NASCAR confiscating an out of spec engine .

Would Mt Dew code red count?

If so, guilty.

um…

No official word handed down from the competition committee, but the safe bet is that game fuel is out of bounds, but code red falls within the bounds of accepted medical -Yoink!-.

I hate it when that happens :frowning:

It’s my recently deemed, completely legal, performance enhancing beverage.

Hey, I don’t have any official sway on this. The beverage committee needs a 2/3 majority to ratify the legality of any non standard beverages.
