I’ve been playing since the game launched with no problems until a week ago.
Can’t get past the title screen after pressing Enter the game crashes with UE4-MCC Fatal Error.
I’ve tried…
Deleting the game and reinstalling,
Reinstalling on a different hard drive,
Installing on a SSD,
Reformatted and installed a fresh and fully updated copy of windows.
Starting Offline
Starting Online
Signing out of my Microsoft account
Signing in to my Microsoft account
Reinstalling EAC
Uninstalling EAC
Loading the EAC disabled mod supporting .exe
Loading the default .exe
Deleting %temp%, prefetch etc
Disabling secondary displays
Running the game at various resolutions from 720-2160p
Running the game at 30, 60, 120 and 144hz
Disabling controllers, USB devices
Completely formatted the entire system, disconnected all drives bar the SSD windows is installed on, installed only Halo MCC.
All of this hasn’t made a single difference at all in any possible way and every single time UE4-MCC Fatal Error which looks like this
However I downloaded and installed a cracked, pirate version of the game and this loads up absolutely fine without any problems what so ever I’ve been able to load this version of the game over and over again without seeing the UE4-MCC Fatal Error on the title screen or anywhere at all I can play all day and never see this crash at all not even once, On the pirated cracked version of the game.
Now since the pirated version of the game works perfectly I bought the steam version and tried that and the same UE4-MCC Fatal Error crash on the titlescreen that the Windows Store version gives me again I can pirate the game and play it perfectly without ever seeing this issue or any other issues what so ever It is only legit versions of the game that are unplayable past the titlescreen which you never get past because it crashes with UE4-MCC Fatal Error every single time…unless you pirate it.
If the problem was on my end then the cracked version of the game wouldn’t run either but it does it is only the legally bought Steam or Windows Store version of the game that crashes as soon as I press Enter on the title screen. The problem only exists with paid for versions of the game. Googling the error will give you a bunch of results from people that have been seeing these crashes at various points some get it when launching only Halo 2 or 3 some only get it on certain missions or maps etc and this goes back for months and months with no fix.
Getting the same error, just got it twice in the last 20 minutes and once a few weeks ago after spending 2+hrs on Truth & reconciliation legendary. the most recent two were while playing a social round of H2A the other I was sitting at the main menu. extremely irritating!

I deleted my config folder named MCC on C:\Users\yorname\AppData\LocalLow
And i was able to start the game again
Make sure you have deleted the right folder, if u havent just give it a try, if you arleady tried then, good luck
