Where are the gamemode files stored that you can customly create in custom games on PC. I looks in the AppData folder and in the Halo Infinite game folder and cannot find a folder where gamemodes are stored.
I would like to know also.

They’re probably on the cloud so you can’t alter them and you probably have to pay for acces to that as well…
Can someone confirm this? Cause if there stored in the cloud only then that sucks if that is the case and I hope this changes in the future.
If you’re playing the game pass PC version, you won’t be able to casually browse the files unless there’s a button on the game page that says “enable mods”

I have the Steam version for both MCC and Infinite, no game pass version. My MCC Steam version saved maps and gamemodes in your AppData directory
I’d imagine they were stored in a coded fashion rather than individual files.
What’s the reason for wanting game mode files?
I would like to backup the gamemode files and even post them on mod sites to easily download like NexusMods.
Actually, I’m able to browse the game files of any game I have on game pass. You just need to be able to access the WindowsApps folder, which there is a way to.
I’m on PC and I am on steam. Ok can you be more spacific? I went into the WindowsApps folder and saw no reference to the saved gamemodes. I would like to make a backup on my game modes. ( I have hidden files selected so I can see everything. )

I see the ones for Halo MCC but cannot find the gamemodes for Halo Infinite.
The WindowsApps folder is for games on game pass, not Steam. If you want files for the game in question on Steam, you need to find where Steam stores those files. If you get the game from Game Pass or MS Store, it will be found in the WindowsApps folder.
As for the game modes, I’m not sure if they’re stored locally or not, and if they are, I haven’t gone that far into the files for Infinite to find them.
O’well thanks for the heads up. Don’t undertsand why 343i wont let us up make backups of our Custom Game Mode files. It’s a pain in in the hyney to go thru all those settings and having the possibility of losing those files. I am a firm believer of making backups. Hell I even made a backup of my Halo Infinite Folder!!

The closest I believe I found to the game mode files are probably the files for the maps themselves as they appear linked to the modes themselves. You could investigate that if you haven’t already.

Are word that future updates will allow gamemodes to be stored on your local computer and not just the cloud?
