PC vs Console question

Just curious, hoping some of y’all can help me with a few questions I have.

Does having a pc make you better at MCC? I currently use console and use wifi which maxes out at about 25 mb download speed. Obviously having better internet would help but on top of that does having a better setup i.e. pc with monitor improve the experience? By how much?

I have an original Xbox 1 and I use a HP 22uh monitor which I think is decent, or at least better than the tv I used to use.

Does anyone here have first hand experience of improved game experience after switching from console to pc?

I have played a lot of Halo, mainly Halo 3 - too many to count, but easily in the 50k+ games range.

I used to play on Xbox, now I play on PC, and I regularly switch between the two. IMO there is no noticeable difference.

There may be an interesting discussion about M+K vs Controller, but that’s a perpendicular discussion to what you’re asking.

i’m nit the most adapt at the differences between pc and xbox, but i would think one of the main differences is the aim assist that comes with or without the choice you choose

I think you can plug a keyboard and mouse into your console and play the game with that. On PC I get get a solid 1080p 60fps for each multiplayer game when I turn V-sync on. I use an FOV of about 100.

Not really, only thing I can think of is the higher FoV and much higher framerate (interpolated past 60). Maybe the higher framerate has an affect on aim assist, I definitely think it does from 30 to 60, but after that I doubt it since it’s just (really well) interpolated.

You can use ethernet on XBone and the game is already riddled with minor desyncs so don’t think you need to worry about internet speed either.

If you have Gamepass and a decent PC already, then sure, but I wouldn’t spend money on one if it’s just to get a slight advantage on Halo. KBM is definitely an advantage with Snipers, SWAT and swords, but that’s about it.

I would say only switch to PC if you are a real stickler for graphics and what not. But be prepared to probably spend a few thousand dollars for a top of the line gaming rig. I play MCC on the OG Xbox one and it, and other games, play just fine for me. I had an Xbox one X for awhile before it died just after the warranty expired. I honestly didn’t notice a very big difference between the two. There are advantages and disadvantages for both platforms. I will always be a console gamer as I like just plug in and play.

Series X (when running @ 120fps) and pc there’s almost no difference. PC Vs Xbox one only difference is higher frame rate and resolution on PC.

Also I’m a firm believer a higher fps will make you better at the game, as soon as I switched to series X with my monitor @ higher fps I started improving a lot, I was hitting crazy no scopes all of a sudden and the controls just feel that much more responsive which reignited my love for the classic games.

In general I think you’ll be better with a controller but a keyboard and mouse will help with the wraith, banshee and sniping.

I mean, if you have a quality setup you can have things that can help you out that just aren’t possible on the console. Higher than 60 framerate can be a boost, an ultrawide monitor will increase your peripheral vision. Keyboard and mouse vs controller is honestly down to personal taste, IMO. I see so many people say the M+K is at a disadvantage because of the lack of auto aim, but honestly I think I play much better with that than I did with a controller back on the Xbox. But while these things can be a boost, they won’t make you a better player. Ultimately, I think it’s a much better experience on PC than it ever was on the consoles, so for that I’d encourage making the switch.
