So, Today I tried to play Halo: MCC after the Halo 3:ODST update but after the Microsoft Studios logo screen my pc instantly shuts down. This is weird because yesterday I played a little bit without any problem and it only occurs in this game. Anyone with the same problem or only me?
Yeah, this happened to me just 40ish min before typing this reply. I checked Event Viewer and it noted a shutdown due to a bugcheck. I my case it rebooted rather than a pure shutdown. A light google search seemed to indicate either memory issues(just checked, I’m ok there. I ran(pressed Windows+R) “mdsched.exe” can take a good bit of time. I’d advise eating a meal or watching an hour block show while waiting should you do this. My PC rebooted twice in the process) or a driver conflict which I’m gonna troubleshoot sometime within the next 48 hours.
Have you checked Event Viewer to see why it shut down? If not, you should have easy access to event viewer by right clicking on the start icon. Once Event Viewer is open select Windows Logs, then System(both of which should be seen in the left of the window), once the events have populated you should be able to drag/scroll down to the time of the unexpected shut down to see an “Error” Level Event that should describe what happened and hopefully why. Then you can start your troubleshooting journey should you have the time & patience to do so.
