Hey guys, does aiming feel weird to anyone else? Especially when compared to other FPS games like Apex/CS? Not sure how to explain it, it just feels weird. Perhaps input lag or micro-adjustments not actually happening?
for me the aiming on xbox one x was not too good, but I think 343 will fix the problem.
It definitely feels weird at first, but I did get used to it towards the end of the flight. I kept my in-game mouse settings at the default with 800 dpi.
I toned the default down from 1.6 to 1.3 and was at a 650 dpi - give or take 100. I thought it felt really good, if I remember right I turned of camera shake, speed lines and a couple others like camera shake.
I hope when we are able to get our usual higher frame rates, the aiming will feel a little better. I am used to 100+ frames, so playing at 60 fps for the first time in a couple years definitely was a transition. Maybe I just suck, but there were times I felt like I got absolutely melted by a controller player.

On PC I turned off aim assist and I honestly felt the aiming was better. The assist the game gave me I honestly thought it made it harder. Haha but that was my experience.

Weird… 'cause in the controller aim assist threads players are threatening mutiny because the PC players were dominating with the mouse.
If it wasn’t you guys… and it wasn’t us… who the damn hell was it?

Hahaha I think it was just the flight. Old build, not exactly optimized for gameplay, more so for the server testing and what not. I am sure with future flights we will see improvements on both controller and M & K.

The “Mouse Aim Assistance” option didn’t feel like it did much, but it seemed more comfortable to aim once I turned it off. The inconsistent framerate didn’t help as I felt like I was fighting the game’s performance more than the enemy’s strafing. A more stable framerate, even 60, would be a big improvement to making mouse aiming feel more consistent with other titles.
Is there any CSGO player who can give a better insight about the overall mnk feeling in Halo Infinite for people who couldn’t participate in this flight?

Yeah I thought it felt mostly fine in Halo Infinite. The frames definitely play a part in it feeling worse than CS, but to be honest aiming in most games doesn’t feel as good as CS. The crosshairs and viewmodels have an impact on that too. In CS you can customize both of those things how ever you want, but in Halo Infinite it is limited. Now the zoom aiming felt very weird to me. I can’t pin it on any one thing, but the sniper and other weapons I zoomed in with felt very off. Hip fire was solid though.
Edit: for my settings all I did was adjust sensitivity to be comfortable (which is identical to CS if you don’t change the scaling), turn off aim assist, and edit keybinds.
