PC Physical version - Play Anywhere?

Hey guys,

Been asking 343, Xbox and retailers this since they announced the PC Physical copy but no answer yet:

Since the PC Physical Copy of Halo Wars 2 is actually a download code (no physical disc included) does this mean it is Xbox Play Anywhere? (meaning I can play on Xbox and PC).

Where can I buy Xbox Play Anywhere titles?
Since Xbox Play Anywhere only applies to digital games, there are multiple Store destinations that will offer Xbox Play Anywhere titles for purchase:

  • Your Xbox One console - The Xbox App (Windows 10, iOS, Android) - The Windows Store - Xbox.com - Microsoft.com - _Digital Game Codes from participating retailers_Any help would be appreciated! Wanna get this confirmed before I use up some of my store credit.

FYI I am aussie so the PC Physical Verison is not cancelled for me

Yes, it is Play Anywhere. It does include discs, but they are just for installation.

Mega confusing, the guys at my local shop don’t know, and the webpage just says No Physical Disc Included: https://ebgames.com.au/pc-225074-Halo-Wars-2-Atriox-Edition-PC

I thought so too, but when my retailer said it wasn’t Play Anywhere, and Xbox wouldn’t answer via twitter/customer service channels, I had some doubts.

Will go ahead and assume it is still Play Anywhere.

so if buy psysical for xbox one will i olso get it for pc? and how i will do that?

I can confirm if you buy Physical PC version in Australia, it is an Play Anywhere version.

Awesome. I will be picking up the Physical PC version, so I can play it on both :smiley:

No, the physical xbox one version is not play anywhere, the physical PC version is though.
