I tried to queue into Social to play some Halo 4 and my controller input does not work with any movement in-game. I can still navigate the in-game menus fine, but I cannot pick load outs. Custom games also works normally. Why is my input being blocked only when I try matchmaking? I’m using a standard Xbox 360 controller.

Man the quit bans are zealous. My input locks me out, so I Alt F4 to not feed the enemy team and I’m promptly banned after the first drop out. I guess being forced to AFK and feed the opposing team in Slayer is what is expected of a “good sport”.
Solution:
Big dumb me never noticed the “preferred input” tab in the menus. This will for whatever reason lock your input in matchmaking. Knowing is growing.
