Hello Waypoint,
So I do not know when this started as I took a long break from the game to play some others, however, I cannot play Reach multiplayer without my game crashing for no apparent reason and it is only in multiplayer.
The crash I experience happens 1-2 min into an MP or Firefight game and my game freezes, the audio slowly starts disappearing till it is completely gone. I get no error message and am then left with nothing else to do but to close my game with task manager.
I can play custom games no problem. I can play the campaign no problem but as soon as a matchmaker is involved this seemingly magical crash occurs every time without failure. I’ve tried verifying the game’s data, making more space on my SSD, reinstalling the game and updating my drivers but nothing has been able fixed this issue.
I would greatly appreciate some help, so I can play Reach again with my buddies.

Having the same issue. No one has answered.
Randomly got this issue, wont go away
my friend have the same prob, all mod work but only multiplayer crash after same 2min !!
Did this issue get resolved?
I just downloaded Halo 3 (finally released) and the exact same issues are happening to me.
1-2 mins in, sound fades, game freezes in place and the only way to close is with the task manager.
I imagine Reach and 2 may have had identical issues? If so, how did they get resolved if they even did?
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated, 10 years waiting for this to happen is a kick in the d***
This happens to me too.
I have also made a post, but it got no responses. This issue has haunted me since February, and a few people were in the same boat, but alas, no solution was found. After finding no solution, I messaged support and just stopped playing because nothing stopped this freeze. It was later fixed when I decided to play again in months, but now it’s back. Not sure what fixed it, but thus far, I have found no public knowledge for a fix to this problem.
With so many support posts, I rarely run into a post with this same exact issue, and it’s good to see others bringing attention to this, but it is safe to say we are in the few.
Something needs to be done about this - I am so f****** tilted that I cannot play Halo3 or 2.
Not a response on any post about same issue, from Reach to 3’s release, this is B.S
So I was able to get it resolved after finding out that EasyAntiCheat had soft banned me as i was unable to play any other game using it. Contacting the Halo support they were able to fix it for me and un soft ban me on EasyAntiCheat and it applied for all my games including halo MCC. So i recommend checking that.

How do we go about this. Halo support responding to me is a whole separate issue. I also highly doubt EAC has banned me as I don’t play their games
My game finally works after all these months.
What got me playing multiplayer again without this awful freeze is port forwarding, this link should have all the MCC ports that you need to forward:
If you are unfamiliar with port forwarding, you can use their Network Utilities software as it comes with a free trial. Otherwise, you can learn to do it manually:
- Follow this link: Open Port
- Select your router manufacturer and model.
- Now just follow the guide for your router, but make sure to instead use the previous link I provided for all the MCC ports.
If your router is not listed, you can likely find a port forwarding tutorial on your specific router with a simple internet search. If you again come up short, then just follow a general port forwarding video or guide because setting up ports may differ, but not by much.
With this, my freeze is no more, but your experience may vary.

ABSOLUTE DON - Fixed my issue, had to do a little search for my specific router but got there in the end. 2 games so far no freezes, thank you so much now I can stream this game with no fear of crashing mid stream. All the best for the remainder of this tocix year @FosterPrado
