Pc for sure has an advantage

It’s OBVIOUS when you go from controller only ranked to quick play. It’s WAY more sweaty in QP and it’s obvious when you face keyboard players.

Have you ever played Halo without aim assist?

so pc’s have an advantage because you feel like they’re sweaty…? what’s your point?

You are objectively wrong. If M&K had an advantage than you’d be seeing the pro halo players use that setup instead of controllers.

Also ranked single/duos is still cross play.

And PC players would say you have the advantage because of Aim Assist. Just because PC players are generally better at shooters and more sweaty doesn’t mean they have an advantage.

no its not. there is an option to lock out other inputs.

Actually they are and Aim Assist is in Infinite it’s just not as high as it is in MCC.

No one set group is better than the other. That’s a silly generalisation that just evokes misplaced arrogance. Not to mention, this isn’t the place for PC elitism.

It’s not elitism. I play on both PC and Xbox and take no sides. I’m simply saying that in general PC players tend to be better at shooters than console players. Does that mean all PC players are better than all console players? No. It’s just a fact in gaming because of the fast paced nature of shooters on PC so they tend to have better reflexes where as it’s a little slower on consoles. It’s gotten better over the years to where it’s almost equal now, but it isn’t quite there yet and I’m sure it will be eventually, but I think Infinite did a real good job at making the game fair all around and neither side has the advantage.

Step1) go to YouTube

Step2) search halo infinite controller settings

Step3) watch a couple videos on controller settings taking note of sensitivity, dead zones, acceleration, etc.

Step4) adjust your setting as required to achieve a more snappy and smooth aim on controller

Step5) Enjoy

The only advantage PC players have over console players is the availability of cheats (soft aim, walls, machine learning, etc)

So first off, you like many others really need to learn that people still play on controller on PC. What you are actually talking about is MnK, which is not evident by your title. Your title would make it seem that you think PC has an advantage over Xbox regardless of input method. That is an entirely different conversation.

Second, there are hundreds if not thousands of people who will tell you that controller is better for Halo. All of the top pros that I know of use controller. You think they would be doing that is MnK was clearly better? And it is not a case of what they are used to, as many of them also have experience on MnK, most notably Frosty and Formal. Both inputs have advantages, and with certain weapon types I can see Mnk having the edge, but for the vast majority of the game controller wins.

MnK is a superior input. PC players are not superior themselves.

Well yes. But the quickplay is sweatier because of so much mnk. It’s really obvious.

Controller has better movement, whereas pc has better aiming. Why, in conversations like these, do I never see people talk about movement? Pc is limited to 8 directions and 1 movement speed. Controller has 8 directions and a continuum of movement speeds, from slow to fast. Because movement is more complicated, it makes movement harder to predict. One slight adjustment is the difference between a headshot for your opponent or a miss. This is why pc does not have an objective advantage over controller. Pressure sensitive keyboards do exist, to allow knm players to do this, but they’re expensive and not everyone has them

Superior aiming, inferior movement

Bro, my only advantage is faster aiming, not better aiming. I get to spin my camera super quick, but you get to land perfect headshots while moving all over the place with a stick. Controller aim assist is beefy, and if you think it isn’t, try doing the 5 chef’s kiss challenge with a mouse

I wish I had an advantage. I feel like console players have so many buggy behaviors I constantly question whether they’re hackers.

It’s sweaty because of premade pubstompers. 343 lacks the quality we had in h3 MM when 4 stacks wouldn’t match with solos/duos.

I recommend players to take advantage of a Razer Tartarus, Azeron, Hori, Steam controller, or play left hand controller and right hand mouse. Plenty of 3rd party options for stick movement with mouse. You can even use a HOTAS if you really want to, like in Mech and pilot games. Xbox can also plug in a mouse, but most people just didn’t know this. Unfortunately MCC made it impossible to use all of these by locking stick to controller only. However, Infinite feels amazing with stick mouse. I’m still trash, but I’m fluid moving trash. Pretty sure most of my issue is the bad hit registration bug going on though, since people can kill me in a millisecond with an AR but I dump all my ammo in their back and they might live. Also Infinite may get VR support one day due to the VR tech demos the other year, and they hired the Halo VR dev.

Interesting! Idk how I feel about trying to control both with one hand. It seems like it would be messy, but I haven’t tried it
