At this point, I just want an answer from anyone telling me I’m not gonna get anything for the number of games I played during that flight. There was never an announcement of any sort that they were gonna give or not give a nameplate both during the XBOX Halo reach flight or the pc one. The top 10 XBOX players that played the most during that first flight never knew they were gonna get anything but they got a really cool nameplate and with common sense, PC players thought it would be the same way for the PC flight. Everyone knew that we had to play a lot of games to end up being top 10, this time was different though. When everyone knows there was a reward on the XBOX flight and there was never an announcement or anything that said there was never gonna be a reward for the PC flight, people got ready to grind. Not only was this more difficult by a LARGE margin but also time-consuming, since the flight was extended by 2 more weeks.
I understand the whole point of the flight was not for a simple nameplate, it was to make the game ready for release. At the end of the day, it won’t matter if the people that played so much of the flight get rewarded or not but it makes me angry to just think of our effort into it just to get ignored. To put into context the difference between how many games were played during the two different flights, Bound the number one in the flight played a total amount of 420+ games which is an impressive feat for one week. Bound and the other 9 players got recognition and a reward for the time and effort they put, while the PC Flight players get nothing and no response. From what I know and I’ve heard during those 3 weeks the people that played the most played a total amount of 1500+ games and they all, in my opinion, deserve the recognition.
I was the number one in terms of games played with 3000+ games. I unlocked everything and got the highest rank in the flight. I don’t really use social media that much but I remember trying to reach out on twitter when the PC Flight was being extended for another week for the first time, trying to get more info as in if we’re gonna get a reward. I never got a response even after the PC Flight was over. For all the time and effort not only myself but everyone that participated in trying to get in the top 10 of most games played for the PC Flight deserve recognition, a reward, or at least an answer. I was really happy to see all the things you guys are doing for Halo and made me believe in Halo again and in you for the first time in a long time, but now I’m starting to overthink stuff because you guys are turning your backs on people like us. People that love halo and go to an unhealthy, unhuman extent to play that much just for something in the game.
Please don’t make me lose my faith with you guys. GT: yS MoKo
They gave nameplates out for one test as a thank you, nothing was ever said that it would be for every flight. They wouldn’t really announce something that they aren’t doing, I’m not really sure what’s unprofessional about that.
The real reward was helping to make a stable game for launch.

The “Surprise” reward (Halo MVP nameplate) was never mentioned and clarified that it wasn’t going to be rewarded again. There were people like myself confused, thinking we were gonna get the same thing at the end of the flight and they could have responded when I tried to reach out or at any moment.
The fact that it was never announced again says to me that it wasn’t planned for any other time. Again, I’m not sure why they would make an announcement to say they weren’t doing it. It would make more sense to announce that they were doing it. I’m sorry you never got a response, but the team have been pretty flat out trying to get things ready for launch. I’m sure there will opportunities in the future to get, at which point they would make an announcement to that effect.
I understand what you’re saying but this “surprise” reward was never mentioned on the Xbox flight either, so it’s fair to assume to take my point of view and believe they were gonna give the reward out again. I wasn’t the only one trying to get it on the pc flight, so that alone should tell you it wasn’t clarified for the people. If they would have announced that reward from the beginning of the Xbox flight, everything would have been different and I would take the approach you’re stating. So much time and effort into it wasted into nothing, made me realize how meaningless all of it is.
It wasn’t meaningless though, everyone playing was helping 343 provide crucial telemetry to help them ensure a smooth launch. Whether you played 1 game, or 100 you helped and your time wasn’t wasted. You expected something that was never promised which is entirely on you.
The entire point of the flighting process is to help find issue before the games / features are released to the general public, it’s not about being rewarded for playing the most.
I understand that aswell… ALL I’m saying is that when people tell me “I expected something that was never promised” that holds no power over the thing I was trying to get, which was the Halo MVP nameplate which is totally different from the Insider nameplate. It was never announced on the Xbox flight, so it’s fair to assume we would be able to get it from playing on the pc flight.
All that was said about the nameplate:
That being said, there were quite a few folks that went above and beyond in terms of participation. Below are the top 10 players from this flight who all played well over 200 matches during the flight. The top 3 though went all-in and put in over 300 matches. The top player, Bound, took top marks and was the only one to break 400 games played, completing a total of 429 matches
This wasn’t during the period of testing the servers that they asked us to play, but a sum of all the games played during the flight… 429 games to 3000+ games are no match in comparing how much time and effort people put into this. I understand the team is very busy with the flight of the game and we helped shape the game none the less, but it’s not hard for them to give us that reward even though we really deserve more. It should have been said there and then that they weren’t going to do anymore of that type of reward or that’s the only case where they were going to do that and stop people like myself from doing what we did. People keep forgetting but it was never announced. It was a surprise “reward”. So how hard is it to give it to us since we actually tried to get it, or stop us from doing this insane act?
Closing this off now as the query has been answered. Sorry the answer is not to your liking OP, there may be opportunities again in the future to earn this
