Pc crossplay and hackers

They will probably just get banned at some point then make a new account and do it all over again.

Yup. I made a thread about this over the summer and was told “no way, there will be anti-cheat”. LOL

To the people saying crossplay doesn’t matter. I’d wager 90% of cheaters in this game are on PC. My brother is mid to high onyx and comes across them daily. Has to throw sniper off map due to aim botting.

People keep saying “MCC didn’t have problems”. That title had some mild anti cheat but more importantly, was not free.

Account bans in a free game are meaningless. Cheaters can make as many accounts as they want. Perhaps that’s why it’s called Halo Infinite?

I love how yet another player comes in here to out a cheater, and is given a college lecture by the same person again. Same person every time lol.
Cheating is rampant.
Instead of a report button we get this crap

No cheater was outed, because no examples of cheats were even described, and no evidence was presented to back up claims :joy:

Besides that wasn’t even OP’s goal my guy, they’re not trying to out cheaters, they’re advocating for segregated console play. Don’t make claims if they’re not even contextually correct just to make others look bad.

If you’re coming across rampant cheating, then report rampant cheating through the support function. Or at the very least share the evidence you have of it happening to you.

Unverifiable claims written by players on forums who stubbornly refuse to use tools at their disposal to back their claims up and/or actually do something through official channels that could help out cheaters and alleviate the impact of actual cheating?

A ticket based system that allows players to share specific clippings of suspicious behavior in action?

An in game report function is needed though.

Haha still going eh, still fighting the good fight for the hackers are ya. You think people can be bothered to go through all that trouble to report each individual hacker they come across when there are videos all over the net of the hackers on the game and so many people already complaining about it. If i redownload the game go into my match history, clip the lastest cheater, send it to 343. They will go oh another cheater, ban him. He makes another account. What is the point. Absolute waste of time.

There. That’s all you needed to say.

The rest was a reply to your points, it was relevant and contextual, it’s on the house, you’re welcome my subtextual friend

Yea I’ve pretty much shelved Infinite until crossplay is disabled.

You do actually make a great point here. I’m in a few competitive discords for Halo Infinite and it’s all Onyx 1600+ players and if you ask anyone in the discord they will tell you that it’s almost every match now that someone is clearly using aimbot, wallhacks, strike pack, rewasd, cronus zen, and xim apex or a combination of them all, 9/10 times they are trying to hide it but if you start winning they turn that s*** up 10 fold. I myself am onyx 1800s and I match against legit 2000-2200 players on the regular and when someone that is low onyx or even diamond with less than 200 matches played is carrying these players then you know something is not right. I’m a Halo veteran and have over 20k hours (maybe even over 30k hours) and have played at the top levels since Halo 3 (multiple accounts level 50 in MLG playlist, level 50 in almost all halo 3 playlists etc.). I am not trying to brag here, this is to illustrate my point that cheaters are not as smart as they think and you can tell them a mile away.

If cheaters are the issue, then the real solution is to combat the cheaters instead of turning off crossplay.

I would rather have input based matchmaking rather than just having 343 simply turn off crossplay because there’s issues that arise when you combine MnK and Controller players, but just outright separating people based on the platform alone is silly

I try not to waste time. You’re welcome.
Guess I dont like to constantly hear myself talk :joy::+1:

Just met 3 lag switchers on Halo Infinite, I played 2 matches of Fiesta fine, then this match against 3 PC cheaters all friends with each other and then another match with no lag after, Want proof I made two separate recordings that I found the most blatant cheating, My username is my GT we lost 50 to 22 because my team was teleporting and lagging while they were fine

Yeah man, let me just hop in my time machine so I can tell myself in the early 2000’s to record every instance of cheating on console because someone in 2021 (2022, now) doesn’t believe consoles have cheaters too. Just go look at ANY modding community website, you will find console modding and cheating goes back a very long way. You can even go to YouTube and dig around to find proof of people cheating on consoles too. Get your head out of the sand. Cheaters exist on all platforms.

But to indulge you with an example of hard video evidence (which you still refuse to provide to support for your own claims) :

https://youtu.be/e128S5OD0Qk

A video from October 2013, when Halo 3 could ONLY be played on Xbox 360. MCC didn’t come out until 2014 and (Halo 3) didn’t release on PC until July 2020.

Edit: I do not condone cheating, the only reason I share this video that I found is to provide proof of cheating on consoles existing. There’s plenty more to be found if you just look. It affects more than just Halo, it affects every game and every platform.

If you have this attitude then why do you write about it on a forum? This won’t change anything and they aren’t disabling crossplay.

They’ve made a system to tackle this exact issue. It makes no sense to -Yoink!- about cheaters then ignore the tools provided by 343.

You could have reported 100 cheaters in the time you’ve spent here. Instead you ramble on paying no attention to the very reasonable comments others have made to you. Says a lot about a person.

but there is 1 big diffrend between xbox and pc still.
on the xbox if there block your account then you can make a new account but is it worth to buy also new gold membership to play online to use wallhacks or normal cheats is that worth to pay a lot off money you need to spent for xbox live for playing with cheats?

and with the pc you only need to make a new account and not have to buy any new membership to play online.
thats why concole cheaters are rare more and pc cheaters are commen.

Not really pc is the issue as thats where the cheating is. 343 have had 6 years to make a game that cant be hacked. Instantly hacked. They will never stop hacking on pc especially on a F2P game. So the real issue they have is they either leave crossplay on and lose their playerbase or they turn it off and save it. People arent gonna sit around waiting and they wont be playing the game against aim bots they will simply leave.

I dont know what that video is or if its legit ive never seen anything like that across any halo or any console multiplayer game in years. Never has there been such a massive outcry of hacker claims on a console game that ive ever seen. Until pc crossplay. Now we have games coming out instantly hacked on pc, hacks common and everybody complaining. Games literally unplayable because of crossplay that cannot be fixed. Now if that video is legit of yours i will take that, a rare hack that obviously got fixed on one gamethat i never came across to what we have against pc right now. Which is an infestation of hackers dominating games rendering them unplayable.

To modify a XBox Console takes a lot of skill and hardware equipment! A little example, the disc drive of a XBox has a defect, you want to change it. You cant simply buy a replacement part. Even if it is the same brand and model. You replace it and it doesnt work. Most of the hardware of a Console is modified, so the system recognize if you changed hardware.
Plus, if XBox live network recognizes a modified XBox Console, the Console is banned from live. You have to buy a new one.

Cheats on a PC just needs “only” Software modification. What happens if a PC Cheater get caught? The account get banned. Wow, really terrible and scary. The PC player makes just a new account and his playing, can use again the cheats and so on.

If you go through the posts this 2 option are mentioned a lot:

  • either halo infinite gets patched, so that cheats are not working anymore and it has to detect if foreign code is run
  • or they introduce the option to Switch off crossplay

This hacks (wall hack, infinite ammo on weapon and grenade, and so on ) came on top of issues like problems with hit registration, desync, lag and so on.
So people will stop playing the halo MP.
I hope that next week we get some official information about the MP problems and when there will be a fix.

If you mean that console games can’t be hacked and don’t have cheaters, then I assure you that’s not the case. It takes some technical know how, but you can cheat on console, and I remember running into cheaters back when I used to play on the 360 and xbone in Halo Gears of War and Battlefield. Really blatant stuff that was undeniably cheating like speedhacking
Cheaters will find a way to cheat, and that problem will never go away but there is a barrier to cheating on console as opposed to PC and that does lessen the amount of times console players end up cheating.

I play alot of games on PC these days and I don’t think cheaters end up driving people away to the extent that you are saying it does. If players really like a game and they come across a cheater they don’t bail on the game. Escape from Tarkov is a perfect example of this and if you want to see the extent at which players tolerate cheating, I encourage you to look at what happens in Tarkov because it is hands down the worst game for cheating in terms of how often it occurs and the punishment for dying in that game is a lot higher than just going to the respawn screen or having bad match for 15 minutes.

There are games on PC that are F2P where cheating is not common and there are paid games where it is. It’s really about how the developers combat the cheating. Is there a report function? Do they hardware ban? How good is the anticheat?
This is what matters and this where I bring up a game called Valorant. I’ve never played this game but from what my friends tell me and what little I have read up on about the game, cheating is just not an issue for this game. It’s very rare to come across it and the devs are very quick to ban them and I’ve heard more accounts of people telling me that they saw a cheater get banned in the middle of a match than I have even seen happen. Valorant is F2P

TLDR: Console Players cheat too, players tolerate cheating to a greater extent than you might think, and the most important factor when it comes to solving cheating is how the developers fight against them.
