What fantasy land do you live in where a console and a monthly/yearly subscription nets you the ability to play without having to deal with cheaters? I can think back to the countless number of cheaters I’ve played against back in the day of Halo 3 on the 360 (and various games across both the 360 and Xbox One). Sure, it’s a lot harder to hack on consoles now than it was back then (the same is true for cheating on PC, albeit the difficulty comes in a different manner than it does on console), but it’s not impossible. If there is a will, there is a way, and cheaters WILL find those ways.
Sorry, but a console hack on a XBOX ONE oder Series X is really difficult and needs hardware modification. A PC is much simpler, because most of the time you “only” need Software for the hacks.
Played alot multiplayer Halo 4, Halo 5, Gears 1, 2, 3, 4 every of this MP had his issues with lag, hit registration and so on. But in Halo Infinite its the first time that i run twice across a hacker in ranked. And guess what? Both PC player.
From the second hacker i have the evidence “theater mode”. You clearly see that he is just pulling the trigger. Not even looking at the opponent, jumping around and not missing 1 BR shot.
Could you upload it?
Im reading right now the instruction “how to report a cheater”. Dont know how to transfer / copy the recorded match from theater mode. Trying to figure it out.
Xbox or PC?
PC you have to use a capture software like OBS, BanditCam, or Nvidia GeForce Experience. From there basic editing and clipping can be done in in the basic video viewing software.
Full video can be uploaded to YouTube. Though I recommend scribbling over the player’s name if you can. The Monitors don’t really appreciate name drops.
Also I learned the hard way that instances of the suspicious have to be clipped, and the clips individually have to be under 49mb.
Hence why I mentioned that the difficulty comes in a different way on PC than it does on Console. Console requires hardware modification, which most people aren’t willing to do themselves. But on PC, the difficulty comes for the person making the cheats. I have little idea how it works, but I know it’s not nearly as simple as most people that claim only PC cheaters exist think it is. I cannot even begin to imagine how momentous of a task reverse engineering a game’s code is, especially if there’s an anti-cheat that’s constantly being updated.
That said, I agree with there needing to be a way to choose if you want to play cross platform or not, however baseless accusations of people cheating without providing any evidence (this thread and it’s OP) as a reason for wanting cross platform to be removed is not a viable demand.
Im on XBOX. I figured it out. I have to “record” the sequences that i watch in theater mode. There i can switch to the perspective of the player who is “that fabulous” on using the BR on his first match! Took a look at his profile.
I will now follow the steps on “How to report a player – Halo Support (halowaypoint.com)”
It’s pretty convoluted I’ll admit.
A report function really needs to be added in game.
I see only 2 option:
- separate ranked playlists fo PC and Console
- make sure that this cheats cant be applied in Halo Infinite
I know that its not an easy task to implement an anti cheat system. And the hackers are for sure not a first priority problem.
Hit registration, desync and a lot of other MP issues should have first priority.
I still think they should implement a system like CSGO and overwatch, where you have to play a certain amount of time to play ranked, have prime which does cost money but only a flat 15 dollars, where prime can only search for other prime players, and finally a reputation system. And yeah also a report button and anti cheat. Its like they had the checklist to learn from every other PC game, then shredded it.
I appreciate you putting in the effort but I feel you’re talking to a brick wall here.
The point you are missing, not understanding or intentionally ignoring is im not posting to prove cheaters exist on this game. I know pc cheaters are on this game, everybody knows pc cheaters are on the game, 343 will absolutely be aware of the cheaters on the game, there is plenty of evidence already no more is needed. We know with 100% certainty that pc cheats are actively in use on the game right now. Ok? Im posting about us being able to remove crossplay so we on console can enjoy the game. Then microsoft can work on fixing your problem instead of making it an our problem, for the sake of the console playerbase. Im sure there are more people like yourself that prefer to argue and try to create doubt about this problem and would rather see the game burn to the ground than remove crossplay as it will significantly reduce the playerbase for pc and you will be stuck with all the hackers yourself but if crossplay stays rip halo. They need to fix this now before permanent damage is done and build the console playerbase. It will be so much harder to bring people back later once they are gone.
why only ranked playlist?
and separate playlist’s is not good since its to much work.
so that idea is all worthless more.
i not know about you but not any anti cheat system is going to work against cheaters and hackers.
look at Warzone from Cod there have a anti cheat system and it still has hackers and cheaters in there game so there are 2 type solutions what 343i needs to do is:
1: make crossplay a option to turn on/off.
or 2: remove crossplay from matchmaking for good that all the xbox players only can play with xbox players and pc players only with pc players.
that are the only 2 good solutions that are going to work and fix the problem for good.
I want to crossplay to be able to be turned off, everytime someone pulls shady moves in Halo it’s always a PC user, last game I played I reported a dude full auto his sidekick and killing me in 2 seconds
Can you provide video evidence of wall hacks and aim bots on 360 let me see. Ive never seen any on console over many games unlil pc crossplay and they happen to be very obvious and always pc players. Funny that. I’ll rephrase we “put up” with a yearly subscription so we dont have to play on pc and be stuck with hackers on every game.
It kind of just sounds like you’re defending and making excuses for cheaters. Like me and many others have said in the forums that they exist and it does seem like your trying to make excuses for why it can’t or won’t happen. Having a rough idea of where spawns are isn’t the same as knowing the exact location then instant killing them like I’ve seen in some matchs.
I understand how these games work and been playing them since the 1st Halo game so I’m fairly certain I know how the games work and can generally recognise abnormal behaviour and can tell the difference between destroyed in-game and people cheating. The evidence of people cheating is all over Youtube so it’s not like it doesn’t exist and is a common complaint.
Kind of feel like you’re just trying to pretend this problem isn’t as bad as a majority of the community claims.
Yeh if you watch them on theatre and turn player outlines on you can see people actually watching and tracking enemies through walls and shoot the moment they appear. It is very very obvious and they arent even trying to hide it.
Im 100% in for that option.
Finally i submitted a ticket with 2 videos showing the player cheating.
But i have to tell you that i was shocked. A short summary, this player was able to:
- shot rockets but the rocket launcher was empty (message out of ammo)
- he could shot through walls! Not only see you through the wall, he pointed to the wall, the recticle became red, and he shot through the wall getting headshot
- he shot rockets through the wall
- he throwed grenades through the wall
Cant tell you how angry i am, when i see how ranked is destroyed by such player.
Played a lot MP games like Gears 1, Gears 2, Gears 3, Gears 4, Halo 4, Halo 5 (got SR 152). All this MP had his issues with lag, hit registration and so on. But here in Halo Infinite its the first time that i came across this kind of cheating.
Im really sorry for all PC player that play legit, but either 343 solves the problem of this kind of PC hacking or they have to introduce the option to switch off crossplay.
its not only with halo infinite where legit pc players are getting hurt with the bad reputation off crossplay between pc and concole its with all the game’s where there is crossplay between concole and pc that hurting the legit pc players also hard.
concole players all is it playstation or xbox there give notting to have crossplay with pc players also.
but the one thing what all concole players know is that there is almost 100% chance that you come in a lobby with a pc cheater/hacker.
and thats always the main reason why crossplay is something concole players hate more since there come on lobby’s where a pc player is using cheats/hacks to win the match since there cant win without it.
