PC Crashes in Game

My PC copy of Halo Wars 2 crashes in every vs AI game in Skirmish and Firefight about 5-10 minutes into the match. This is frustrating, because I’m new to the game, and would like to practice before facing other players.

I’ve tried:

  • Clearing Windows store cache - Updating Drivers - Reinstalling Halo Wars 2 - Restarting PCI’ve been on google for days trying any solution suggested to fix this. Apparently, this was a huge problem about a year ago, and a patch was supposed to fix it. I’m still getting the problem, and could use further help.

Downloaded CPUID HWMonitorPRO (not advocating the download, just being specific) and found out, that while playing Halo Wars 2, my cpu was reaching a temperature of 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit. My average running temperature was 70-75F. After doing research and adjusting settings in the boot screen of my PC, I was able to get my average running temperature to 50F, and my in-game to 60-65F. This solved my crash problems. This is also the first, and only, game to crash and overheat. I do notice, now, that my loading times are a bit longer, but I am able to play the game on max graphics with no problems.
