As a huge fan of Halo and this franchise in particular, it’s sad to see the game dead already on PC. Spent 80 bucks, happy to support the game, only to barely be able to find any matches or do anything online anymore. I just waited over 45 minutes for a co-op vs a.i match. Why is there not an option for 2v2 or 1v1 a.i match with matchmaking rules so that I can complete dailies and earn cards. add to that firefight not giving any reward and there is almost no incentive to play the game.
What gives? Are people at 343 just playing on Xbox and not seeing or understanding these very basic issues? So much time goes by with no real news, no back and forth. We need social crossplay, something, anything. The Coalition was much faster at responding to community outcry and the dwindling PC playerbase by adding crossplay, adjusting drop rates, so on and so forth. This game is too good to be this dead so soon.
Well considering if you buy it on xbox you get on PC, I feel that many people who have brought it have an xbox. And if you are an xbox user you might have tried it out on pc, then realised you were best suited for the xbox not pc. So many people just tend to play on the xbox version, not the pc.
A steam release would help, enabling cross play between the Microsoft store and steam. But it will never get as big as the xbox population.
Stopped playing weeks ago on pc, the game is good, but its not enought to keep me interested and large enough for me to come up with multiple strategies. Balance killed this game for me and a lot of others… btw what is the point of a season pass in this game, if everyone get everything the same time? Halo 6 on pc better be goooooooood, other wise I will have to just assume 343 is the worst thing that ever happened to Master Chief. Who knows? Maybe the community may create a Halo Canon website that rejects everything that came from 343. I really hope 343 is treating their employees right, i feel that games that suck will have companies that treat their workers like -Yoink-.
I am a casual player on PC. Been playing a lot offline vs AI now slowly trying to play online VS AI or ranked or whatever. Feel free to look me up and play. my GT is Oddball2121. I am not a hardcore tryhard but would like to play with people that want to have fun and yes try to win but not get all up tight about the little things…just play. Wish pc community was bigger,yes steam would help .

As you probably have figured out the controls on PC are weird. Coming into the game I thought they would be true rts PC controls. F10 being pause…wtf? I wish I could program my mouse to have the All Units button on my mouse…cant… My GT is Oddball2121 . I play on pc. I am a casual player but would like to start playing online matches. I am definitely not a try hard but I like playing vs and with people.

I personally find the controls on PC pretty good - it’s a simple game but almost everything you need is pre-bound in sensible locations.
As to your comment about F10 - Homeworld and its sequels (one of the highest rated RTS games of all time on PC - released 1999 and still is placed 24th of all games on PC of all time) used F10 as pause/menu. It is not as uncommon as you think. Escape is useful to deselect a selection.

this game is dead because it still has terrible balance, and lack of communication from the devs. the game really is terrible to play at high levels
That whole “literally does not function” for the first month or so probably put quite a dent in PC population. Finding the same 10-20 people every match is almost comical though.

Lol xbox population is tiny 3k players at peak times during the day is dead for any game

Not as dead as PC, 3k players for HW2 is quite a lot. Halo 4 can barely get 1000 in comparison.
