PC: Check Event Log (game crash on load)

Hey All,

Just noticed in my case after the game would sit starting with the 3 dots and crash, my PC reported a display driver crash (it doesn’t pop up on screen).
Posting to see if we can gather some data.

If your crashing in a similar fashion it may be worth checking out the Event Log:

  1. Win + R (run) and typing in eventvwr OR right click start / windows and then click event viewer on Win10
  2. Click Event Viewer on the top left to get the summary view
  3. Under warning, look for ID 4101 (Display). Note the time.
  4. Correlate with your game crashing.

Stuff for Devs (was copy pasted from other post:

Problem: Game wont initialize, loads - crash.

OS: W10 21H1 (Pro)

Steps taken:

  1. Verify Files
  2. Move to new drive (mechanical to SSD)
  3. Reboot (actual reboot, not power cycle / fast start up)
  4. disabled firewall and AV

CPU Pegged at ~50% Duty on all cores (i7-4770)
Loading screen, sudden Halo music followed by a crash, memory spikes as well as GPU activity (NVIDIA 9xx)

Eventlog: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered. (NVIDIA Driver Crash? Version 466.77 and 471.41) Event ID 4101

Note to Devs, also have ID 1001 which has problem signatures etc included, however contain information I wont post here. Get in touch if needed.

Can confirm a similar crash and the coinciding ID 4101 warning in the event log. I will also place the crash report here found in the game files. I took the same steps 1, 3, and 4. Though I also ran the game as administrator, overclocked the GPU, and ran the GPU from a cold reboot.
