Paying to use Cosmetics? 🤧

Hi, my name is Luke. Usually, I stray away from submitting tickets with games/gaming companies, unless the game I am playing is near unplayable. The gameplay is amazing, and I have no problems or even complaints currently. However, I do have an issue with the multiplayer, that disappoints me from the times I launch the game and play multiplayer.
I started playing halo when I was nine on the Xbox 360. The first title that I had played being, Halo Reach. To say the least, I was hooked on Reach. For a kid who hadn’t even hit their double digits, it was mind boggling to the adults around me that I was playing games so, so much, until they kept seeing that the game on the TV had not changed, to which they had concluded that there wasn’t a lot that could stop me from doing that always.
After playing for a literal 2 and half or 3 years straight, I had put it down with respect, and didn’t touch it again. Memories would circulate of my own golden days of gaming, and my golden days were those times playing Halo Reach. And with Infinite, a lot of past memories were found and revisited. I would like to take the time to thank you for that, extremely. I can not put enough words together of thanks for the 343 team to work together and bring just me alone those memories. Seeing those memories, I know I’m not the only player of the game with the same experience. So again, I thank you deeply.
Halo also lit a competitive fire for me. I’d even confidently say for life. I’m always striving for the next kill because of how rewarding it feels to me. At the same time, just killing and dying all the time is normal, it isn’t as rewarding as it can be. And with that, it isn’t Halo.
I think what kept me into halo for so long, was that it felt constantly rewarding from when I launched the game, to when I closed it. The leveling system that is still in that game today, is one that is a top tier system compared to any other leveling system in a multiplayer game, and that goes without say.
There’s a lot of features in that system which could be the reason to put that statement up next to Reach. Maybe it’s the names of the levels, from basic military ranks we see today in our world, like 2nd Lieutenant, Private, or the ā€˜out-of-this-world’ rankings, like Lunar. Or maybe it was the Exp system, and seeing how much exp I earned for every action in my previous match. Also though, the credits (CR).
With the credit system, I was constantly earning and I was constantly stacking. Stacking points into my inventory (for something like a hefty costing death effect). Nonetheless, I was always earning to customize my Spartans when I go out and play. It was a new level of gaming, with friends and with people I didn’t know in random matches, and I think it’s one that needs to come back.
Okay, maybe not exactly all of that, but I hope you can understand my point of; Me, and many members of this community, find that having to pay ANY dollar is something confusing, and also upsetting.
Confusing in the sense that 343 went the way of ā€˜micro transactions’. I don’t expect map packs to be free. I don’t expect campaign/single player dlc to be free either. And if you guys are very keen on joining the battle pass wave, nobody can stop you, and people with a brain don’t expect it to be free either. But what I am sure of, me, and the community playing this game, is that nobody likes to have to pay ANY dollar to customize the Avatar, or ā€˜Spartan’ they play as. And halo has never done that. Until this release.
I hope that there can be an eye to eye change met, because quite honestly, as much as I love the game I am getting burnt out a little quick. I can’t put this game down and walk away from it, but I can play my first multiplayer match or two of the day, and say, ā€˜not today’ or ā€˜maybe later I’ll hop on if I’m feeling it’ and I don’t expect that from halo.
Still, this isn’t a complaint directed at the game. I am so damn impressed with this game, and am playing it always. I love it so much, and I just bought the Campaign DLC today. I still have to play it, but from my other friends I hear; the Campaign is ā€˜effing great.
Thank you for your time and support. I’m excited to play the campaign you guys worked so hard upon for the days off I do have. You guys killed it with this Halo, seriously.
Much love, and also, I hope the best to the one, or the many, who are reading this. Happy holidays and happy new year!

TLDR:
This guy likes Reach’s credit system and progression system, it justified his time put in the game and it created a wonderful gameplay loop of playing for Cr then spending it to customize.

He loves Infinite Campaign but hates the MTX for the MP, which is in several ways a step back from what already existed in Halo Reach.

343 Bad.

PS. OP please make your text more read-friendly. My eyes are blurry af now.

If you start your Text with ā€œUsually, I stray away from submitting ticketsā€ you are 100% showing that fact by not writing a ticket to the support but opening a discussion thread in the forum.

To @Sodium_Bath, you madlad I salute you.

And what sane person thought that the Reach credit grind was good? I know Halo 5 made it even worse but as far as Meta-progess Systems go, both are bad. Any ā€œGame played for X Hoursā€ Display, outside of the games UI, is doing the exact same job.
The MCC System with its resets does atleast dodge the Hell of the grind for the last few levels beating the overall time investment for all levels before.

Yes the game needs more play-to-earn unlocks but do I remember wrong? Did Reach not lock the purchase of a lot of armor behind certain ranks? Because that made like half of all the armor ā€œpleb piecesā€ that made anyone wearing them look like a Rookie.
As a Reach Kiddie myself, I love the customisation in it but the Unlocksystem was trash.

Credit grind has its pros.

Firstly, it was an incentive and reward for good play.
Secondly, it allowed you to spend it however you wish. You were not forced to run a train of items you don’t want because the stuff you wanted was in tier 70~100.

Remember MCC in the early stages? You weren’t even allowed to pick among 10 choices on what to unlock first. Reach Cr system let you buy whatever you want, whenever you want, as long as you got the Cr and you are that certain rank.

Now let’s talk about military ranks.
Reach Military Rank and H5 Spartan Ranks were a good way to show your dedication to the game. It’s just a fat number/fancy icon, big deal… yes it’s a big deal.

It’s like a small injection of dopamine to see what you have achieved and how far you have come. Infinite not having this is just such waste. Not to mention Infinite doesn’t even have a medal display so you can see all the medals you have collected thus far. Ouch.

Nobody is impressed by your expensive game skins that anybody can purchase if they are also a complete sucker…

I think it’s pretty obvious what worked and what didn’t work throughout Halo’s lifespan. And Infinite took away most of what worked…
