Pay to win? More like Play to win.

Does halo 5 favor players who pay for their req packs ?

Or does halo 5 favors more towards players that spend more hours grinding req points?

Is there really a diffierence?

Assuming these player examples are those who have completed their bronze and silver permament unlocks. You shouldnt be opening gold if you havent anyway.

Player A can spend $9 for three gold packs in one minute

Player B can :

spend 3 hours and 36 minutes ( 1 hour and 12 minutes per pack, or 6 games each ) grinding warzone assualt ( Average game time being 12 minutes )

or 5 hours ( 1 hour, 40 minutes per gold pack, or 5 games ) playing regular warzone, for 3 gold packs ( Average game being 20 minutes ).

At the end of the day, both players earn the same reward, unless if however . .

Player C : Purchases 3 Gold packs, and plays as much as Player B does, doubling his req packs, or earning as much as player A and B combined

Of course , players who buy req packs will more often than not grind the game, but those who dont will have the same items earned, just not necessarily as much, without having to pay extra money, while having fun at the same time as those who spend money.

In my opinion (please do not attack me), the players who spend on req packs just fill their progression faster, and admittingly have more fun using their abundance of reqs. But purchasing reqs ( Player A ) wont mean your unstoppable against Player B, and you dont have to spend money to have fun, which is a good thing. For every Nornfang player Player B has, however, player A has 2. As a player B, i am quite jealous of others sometimes ( I dont even have a nornfang ).

So is halo 5 play to win? Or play to win . Both?

You decide! Feel free to share your opinion.

You can have 1000 of everything… without the skill to get to the red level or skill just to use it you will lose…there is way to many factors in a warzone game. Pay to win would be being able to buy an advantage DURING the actual game… like being able to buy a constant over shield or something… once in a game there is no buying and there is no amount of reqs that will help you if you have no skill. The pay to win crowd just likes having that cry when they lose… They got sniped… :…( They bought that req… They get killed with the answer… :…( they bought that req… when there is no way to tell how some on has a particular req… the req system is pay to skip the grind and that is it.

well one thing is that the ones who play to win get to learn how to play the game better. no use having a good weapon if you dont know how to use it

Most games of warzone decide the victor early on in the match before any of the mythic reqs or anything make an appearance on the battlefield.

If you aren’t good at the basics of the game, you’ll seldom ever have the chance to use a level 7-8 req at a point where it could change the tide of a game.

Its pay/grind to unlock

The more you play the more you unlock stuff. Kinda turns into more wins.

The thing is if you don’t clear your REQ’s then you don’t really get anything for unboxing gold packs, as you’re far more likely to receive the uncommon and rare items you haven’t unlocked yet instead of ultra rare and legendary ones.

So if you just straight up blow money on gold packs then you’re not going to get anything good, you’re just gonna get uncommons. So to instantly buy REQ packs is just a literal waste of money.

Now what if you already have your silvers and such cleared and thus are guaranteed to get good items from the packs? Well it takes an hour of Warzone Assault, the most efficient REQ point mode, to earn a single gold pack, and that is under ideal theoretical conditions .Or you could just blow money on them instead.

The only thing that really makes a difference is the loadout weapons though. And so long as you have one of each, even if its only defaults, you can still win, so nah
Play to win
well… play a lot to win

Yet you can still buy them so the pay to win stance is valid. Doesn’t matter if you can earn them, the option of buying them is there and it is much faster. No matter what deluded “343 is actually a good company” world you live in. Having the option to buy them adds a level of pay to win.

It could be the tiniest almost unotacable advantage ever, if you can buy it than it is there.

Those games also have little chance of turning around due to the already winning team spawning all their ultras they jave stocked up, making a comeback impossible.

Definitely both.

You can just spend $$$ to get those mythic weapons (assume unlimited funds)
Now playing does give you REQ points, but not as fast as you can potentially be playing for days before you get that nice worthy weapon.

you can put your time into a job and get packs that way or put time into the game. so pay or play? play gives you experience with the game and gives you time to learn. SO PLAY FOR DAYS BOYZZZ.

Going to lock this in favor of the established topic we have here
