Pay to play for Ranked Halo.

I know that none of us want to pay to play a game that we already paid for originally however just here me out.

I believe that one of the main concerns for putting in a 1-50 ranking system is the man hours it takes to police the people that wish to abuse the system. If 343 were to implement a small charge system such as 1.99 or 2.99 a month for a premium membership in order to play ranked Halo this would eliminate the problem. Not paying would still allow you to play all other game types except ranked.

This sort of system would allow them to pay staff to police and update constantly in order to control the system properly. I for one would be completely ok with paying a small charge in order to get back solid ranked Halo.

If this is not the main reason then I am completely confused as to why they won’t implement a system that so many of their population loved and are asking for.

I appreciate all opinions on this and look forward to hearing them.

eh… well neat idea. Though i cant possibly see the community being ok with this. (of course i would pay myself but id rather not)

not many people would sign up for it when regular halo is free and just as good to most. The population would be low and would have to be terminated. Besides we don’t know how the new ranking system will work

So, you wanna pay just to show off a rank in a game? Silly when you thin about it isn’t it? If a person is willing to pay money just so he can get a virtuel rank, well then… Horrible idea.

I’d be down with this, but I would want it to offer more than just being able to play pest-free ranked. Didn’t CoD have some kind of subscription based service that had all kinds of extra features? Something like that.

Sorry I wouldn’t pay for ranked playlists or visible rank even if it was 2 or 3 dollars more, I already pay for xbl.

It just isn’t worth the money.

The issue isn’t with the game, it’s with networking limitations.

The issues lie within things such as IP flooding, which lies outside of the game, and just within people’s networks.

You don’t flood someone’s xbox. All of those events actually have nothing to do with the Xbox at all. It’s a direct attack from a computer to someone’s network. Xbox can’t do anything about that. The only thing that can be done is find ways to hide someone’s IP address better, however, even when using IP masking technologies, there are ways to still find the host and send attacks.

No I don’t want to pay to show off. I want to pay to have an even playing field like 1-50 provides. You get matched with people of your level both against and on your team.

I like the idea it’s just people wouldn’t want to pay, then they’d have to match you with an uneven 1-50 you’ll have a 7, a 17, and a 27

I can’t believe people want 1-50 so bad they would pay a monthly fee just to have it. Can no other ranking system ever work for you guys or do you have the mind set of “baby wants his bottle”? (the bottle being 1-50) Its just truely mind blowing to me.
