In an IGN article earlier this week, the author brought up the current concept of “games following TV release schedules” in terms of new content being released weekly (i.e. Spartan Ops) and he also brought up the idea of if we were made to pay for those S.O. episodes.
I certainly don’t believe that the Spartan Ops episodes are worth paying for, so my question to you is “If 343 made the next season of Spartan Ops require a fee to play, would you pay for it?”

My theory? We’ll need the DLC for future Spartan Ops. So technically yes I already bought it.

I’d probably pay anywhere from 80-120MSP per episode. Possibly 500-800MSP per season.
But ideally, I’d like them to be free. I don’t in anyway expect that to be the case, but it’d certainly be nice.
I like what they have done so far. However, I would only pay if I were guaranteed that I would have new places every two episodes. I have no problems revisiting places, I would just like the characters to acknowledge that fact and also only have to revisit maybe 3 times ever.
I like Spartan Ops, but it’s not worth paying for in its current state. Not going to pay money just so I can play the same levels over and over.
Only if they step it up with new, unique maps and whatever else they can do to make it worth the price.
Right now this isn’t DLC. It’s free, additional content, and a replacement for Firefight. So repetition doesn’t bother me. But if they start charging, then it needs to offer me something equivalent to actual DLC, which should mean new maps and new scenarios unlike what I’ve already played.
My theory: they’ll be “free,” but you’ll have to own the DLC map packs to access them. It would make sense, since thus far Spartan Ops maps have been War Games maps essentially.
I would pay for it, I am enjoying the story so far and it is nice to get a glimpse into everything happening Post-Campaign. I have faith that Spartan Ops will continually get better if we give them time to hit their stride with it ;).
Revisiting locations is fine in my book, I understand budget concerns and such and they let us know its the same place and area only dealing with a different situation, and I can understand the ordeal in general.
Its confirmed next Episode and perhaps all after will contain new areas that we can drool over and I am excited for that, I love meh some Forerunner areas.
It is likely that since Spartan Ops is doing well and population is high within it throughout the day that they will increase the Budget to be used for the maps, development, as well <3.
