So, this topic is now a discussion. What do you want to see at PAX Prime and what do you think we will see?

I’m hoping for a solid campaign trailer much like Halo 3 at E3 '07. Great times.

How I imagine the new trailer (Not really a script writer, just threw this together out of what I think I know.):

BLACK SCREEN

Cortana - Chief!? Chief!

SILENCE. CAMERA FADES IN ON THE CRASH SITE OF THE FORWARD UNTO DAWN ON REQUIEM ZOOMING ON THE SITE. THE CAMERA THEN CHANGES FROM AN ANGLE WHERE YOU CAN SEE HEAVY SMOKE AND A MAJORITY OF THE BROKEN SHIP. SECONDS LATER, OUT OF THE SMOKE CHIEF RISES.
CAMERA THEN CHANGES TO BEHIND CHIEF AS HE STARES INTO THE SKIES OF REQUIEM.

Master Chief - Where are we?

Cortana - I don’t know…

CAMERA GOES BLACK.

??? - Days have past…

CAMERA QUICKLY OPENS UP TO SEE FORERUNNER BUILDINGS AND PILLARS AS A PELICAN FLIES THROUGH. CAMERA THEN CUTS TO BLACK AGAIN.

??? - For centuries I have been waiting…

CAMERA OPENS UP AGAIN TO SEE CHIEF STANDING IN FRONT OF A FORERUNNER SHIP, CUTS TO BLACK AGAIN.

??? - The time is right, I must be awakened.

CAMERA OPENS AGAIN, SHOWING THE CRYPTUM BEING ACTIVATED AND SLOWLY RISING, AS THE MUSIC GETS INTENSE, THE CAMERA FADES OUT THEN BACK IN SLOWLY AS YOU SEE CHIEF ON THE GROUND, CRAWLING BACK WITH NO WEAPONS AS A SHADOW APPROACHES HIM.

??? - I have long dreamt of this day…

THE CAMERA CHANGES TO VIEW CHIEF’S HELMET AS YOU CAN SEE A TINT OF THE ENEMY IN HIS VISOR.

??? - Reclaimer…

CAMERA GOES TO BLACK. THE MUSIC GETS INTENSE AND YOU SEE MARINES BEING OVERRUN BY CRAWLERS.
THEN, YOU SEE ELITES BATTLING OFF AGAINST KNIGHTS, SOME GETTING SHOT DEAD.
NEXT, YOU SEE A GRUNT RUN PAST THE CAMERA TO SEE IT PAN ON A GROUP OF CRAWLERS, KNIGHTS AND WATCHERS. CAMERA CUTS TO BLACK.

CORTANA - Wake up John!

CAMERA OPENS UP TO SEE CHIEF BURST OUT OF HIS CYRO TUBE, THEN THE SCENE SWITCHES TO MULTIPLE GAMEPLAY FOOTAGES AND CAMPAIGN SCENES. THEN ENDS OFF WITH A GLIMPSE OF THE ANCIENT EVIL AND A SMALL LITTLE LAUGH.

Not the best, but it’s a nice little thought.

Well we know that Halo 4 is going to have an important appearance at the event, and we’ll most likely see a bit more of the campaign. However, no concrete details have been given as of yet.

Yep, Halo is going to be showing on September 1st at 5:30-6:30 in the timezone where Seattle is found.

I’d like a trailer featuring campaign and forge gameplay.

i would like a proper halo 4 trailer this time. From the looks of it 343 is making an amazing game but they suck big time at making trailers.

I disagree, the trailers we’ve seen for the game so far have been amazing!

I wouldn’t say they suck, but really the only trailer they’ve made is the teaser from last year. All the others were either demos or vidocs. I want a real trailer. I have no doubt that they can make a good one.

A forge trailer would be a nice fresh take for once. I can see them showing off pieces and ba custom maps with nice music.

yeah im sure they can make a proper trailer its was a bit ignorant me saying that. I would also like a trailer thats in the same concept as halo 2’s, 3’s and reach’s. I personally dont consider the “creating halo 4” video a trailer and certainly not the type that should be shown in theater, im not to crazy about the live action trailer (especially the part with chick with big hair running, that was too silly looking and out of place lol) but they should have shown that in theaters instead.

Seriously? The videos we’ve seen from Halo 4 have been lackluster, to say the least, and hardly memorable.

Frankie actually addressed this in last week’s OHI, though, so it made me feel a little bit better about it. Hopefully he was telling the truth, and it has to do with the fact that the studio was thrown together so quickly instead of them just sucking at marketing.

I just hope they actually have something really nice thrown together this time.

It’s like they’ve been holding back. Imo bungie trailers were straight to the point and showed the correct amount of stuff in the greatest quality (though i know this aint bungie). I don’t want to see dated builds anymore. They haven’t showed the tanks or air vehicles in action much. I want to see more familiar things in the trailer.

Enough with the infinity slayer clips on haven, f that lol. I know there’s so much more they can do.

Yeah they haven’t shown the game off well at all in my opinion. The reveal teaser made me excited at the time, but it’s hardly memorable like the reveals of previous Halo games–specifically Halo 3.

I agree with you that it seems like they’ve been holding back. Everything seems so hastily thrown together. The E3 demo was pretty legit, and that 20 second or so montage of clips at the end is what I want to see. I don’t want to see dated builds anymore either, I don’t want to see silly videos that are narrated like the E3 War Games trailer–I want to see awesome game play with awesome music that shows off the game in a very good way. Honestly, I think that would go along way to cure my disappointment and skepticism in 343i.

i agree, we havnt seen enough of Master chief in any of the trailers except the the teaser and quick (very quick) shots of him in others, i would like a trailer that is only focused at him, one that engages us with the main feature and plot of the game. A lot of it is focused on the UNSC infinity, spartan 4’s etc it makes it feel like the master chief isnt the main character in this.

and, I’m not trying to change your opinion. I find people on forums are pretty stubborn in opinion, myself included. I’m just simply delivering to you my disagreement in the form of my enthusiasm toward 343i’s Prelude trailer. :confused:
