PAX info is unimpressive.

343i has managed “too little, too late” again. A lot of the things they’re doing have been asked for, but are incredibly underwhelming.

Backend weapon tuning? That’s great. You built this game off of Reach’s engine, and you implemented this exact same feature into Reach two years ago. Why wasn’t this there from the beginning?

CSR isn’t visible in-game. Enough said.

Forge Island will doubtlessly be used by many Forgers, but the map itself reeks of lazy development. The islands seriously look like “derp we have flat discs we scaled.”

Playlists aren’t even a reasonable topic. They don’t require updating the game at all.

Still no fixes for custom game options.

Having flat ground is good, but yeah most of this stuff should have been here from day 1. We still have auto pickup, and we still have descope. The camo glitch hasn’t even been acknowledged. They’re still sticking with having CSR only visible on waypoint which is a stupid move as well.

People in the community have to realize, even if they do not like it, that they can’t get everything they want. 343i has to draw the line somewhere on teh things that they believe they had right from the outset. With others, they have shifted ground to please. IMO, they have shifted ground to please with to many things but I can live with that. Two things they have gone to far with but, like you all who don’t get something, I have to live with things they did change that I didn’t want changing.

I just hope this experiment that was Halo 4 means a far greater Halo is launched to begin with…

They should’ve just used H3’s o H2’s engine and just made it look better. Minimal changes would have been fine but not the over the top ones they added.

So we get some progress, and people still complain?

I’m out.

Let me come with you. I have Jaffa Cakes.

they will bring the 9 missing gametypes’Derp’.

Taking stuff out of the game that has been in previous iterations and putting it in back later isn’t progress.

hey, better late than never.

I’m pretty much convinced at this point that 343 can give you all a million dollars and a lifetime supply of pizza and there’d still be 25 threads an hour complaining about it.

They add features that were painfully absent from the game at launch, meanwhile there’s still so much missing from the game and for some the game is unplayable, but how date we criticise them …

While this is undoubtedly true, I have to agree with everybody else.

The map is free, which is nice, but it’s the same forunner aesthetic we have a bunch of maps of. All 3 of the islands are flat, which makes varied envoriments even harder.

I have no issues with their implimentation of csr.

I agree, man. You’re unimpressed because it seems like it’s near impossible to impress some certain people in this community.

I understand the complaints, they’ve been beaten to death. I agree with some, but complain about progress? C’mon.

So you’d rather them just blow it off and not add it at all?

At least they’re trying to do some things that people have been asking for.

The only thing that got me excited was the new forge map.

So they wanted to try something new, people complained, now they’re fixing problems and giving a free… let me say that again, FREE forge island, but yet people still complain?

There was literally no reason for backend weapon modifications to be absent from the game to begin with. They were already a part of Reach’s engine. This isn’t progress, it’s literally taking a step forward (with backend control in Reach), a step back (removing it in H4), then stepping forward again and claiming amazing progress.

My issue with the Forge map isn’t that it took so long, nor is it the environment being “Forerunner” again. The map literally looks lazy. It looks like they modeled some really awkward looking island and scaled it to three sizes, then called the map complete. I’m sure there will be some amazing Forging done on it (as always), but the map looks like very little effort went into it. I know the Hang 'em High remake was built terribly.

This has nothing to do with it being “impossible” for 343i to do right. They just don’t deserve praise for re-implementing features that were missing for no apparent reason to begin with. There should be no praise for the return of the “red X,” nor should there be praise for the return of backend weapon adjustments or fixing the inability to disable instant respawn. Those are featues that should’ve been present from the beginning (it wasn’t related to time constraints, each of the features were already part of the engine), yet were removed for no apparent reason.

Want to know another ridiculous zero-effort fix I’m surprised they haven’t thrown on us? Unhiding the “disable sprint” option in customs. It’s there, yet you can’t see it (again, no apparent reason for this), yet it gets used in Flood and several hacked gametypes. Those “hacked” gametypes don’t do anything but change a few “on/off” switches that are already there.

Also, being free doesn’t prevent the map from looking lazy. Bungie released Cold Storage for free, and it was fantastic. In fact, all of the Halo 2 maps were eventually free, and the Heroic Map Pack in Halo 3 was free. All of them looked great.

After all the changes 343 has made to the game over the past 3 months or so people are STILL complaining.

This is the most pathetic, whiny community I have ever been a part of. Stop wasting your time posting these threads on the forums because no one wants to read them. Instead, go play the game.

I swear if everyone who complains about the population being low went and played the game instead of posting inane threads about it on the forums it would be twice as high.

I’m really happy with the way 343 has handled everything lately. Is CSR visible? No, but who cares. Stop being lazy and look at it on your computer. They admitted there is no way to implement it in game because it wasn’t there from the start.

They give us a FREE flat forge space and people complain about that too! It absolutely amazes me.

From what I see on dictionary.com and here this is indeed progression.

For the game, yes it is. I you subtract something you are in the negatives. If you add it back you go from having a negative number to breaking even again. Definition of progress.

Complaining that a fix came “too late” is not constructive.
