Patch not downloading

Launched HW2 on my laptop this evening, got notified of a required patch, but the W10 store just has the download stuck at “still waiting.” Rebooting my device and then loading the game again did not help. Also tried restarting the download.

Anyone else having problems getting the update?

Whoops. I’ve made a fool of myself. Turned out there were 14 other downloads in my queue.

I take that back. Now I’m being hit with the lovely 0x80073CF0 error code.

Found some fixes for 0x80073CF0 and am trying them out now. I will document any successful fixes here.

Had success with this:

  • Stop any Halo Wars 2 downloads and then restart your device - After your device has restarted, open File Explorer, type C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download into the search bar, and press the Enter key - Change the sorting to Date modified and delete the folder showing the most recent date and time. This is the folder containing the corrupted download. - Open Windows Store and retry the update.

Not trolling. Perhaps the update I had been struggling to download was the previous one from a few weeks ago; it had been a few weeks since I played the game on PC.
