I hit on this in a reply to a thread, but would like to see what others think of it as well.
Partying up after matches - It was a great, easy way in previous Halo games to connect with people on your team that you just played with or to replay the team you just played against (because you are, of course, better than those a**holes and you’re gonna prove it). I know I made quite a few friends by playing 3/Reach with them all night after deciding to party up. With Halo 5 you see people, you play them, then they’re gone and you’re on to someone else. It makes it a lot harder for someone that doesn’t always have a team of 4 to enjoy the game and to do well because they keep getting paired with different people that have different strategies, rather than being able to stick with an impromptu team.
Which brings me to my other idea…
Party-Based Queuing - Thoughts on this? Say you have Arena Slayer, 4v4, the usual. Except you have a 1-2 person queue where only people in parties of up to 2 people can join and a 4 person queue where only parties of 4 can join. The issue is figuring out what to do with parties of 3 because nobody likes a 3v4, and in the 3-4 queue you wouldn’t be able to find a single to fill the spot. However, a well put-together team of 3 will still dominate teams of 1-2.
This would, however, be a great solution to people not being able to get past certain ranks because they just get annihilated by teams of 4 when they enter the playlist. Doubles is great, really enjoy playing it, as is FFA, but I often find myself wanting to play 4v4 Slayer or Arena, and being scared to because I know my rank will drop if I play alone or even in a party of 2.
