I think John’s long lost lover should return as a Spartan IV in Halo 4 thereby mixing up John’s emotional past with the current events that are going on.
maybe, although for people who have not read evolutions (i have) it would be very confusing, like “who the hell is this!”
(also then her and cortana would have to fight)
He wasn’t really a long lost lover… As a 6 year old child he agreed to marry her and keep her safe. Besides, John, as a Spartan, doesn’t really have time for “love”.
Hmm… I wonder what ONI had planned to do when the S-IIs were like 60 or something? Let them retire? Or would they force them into a high power position, as “pencil-pushers”?

Spartans can’t retire. All Spartan II’s and III’s also had their -Yoink!- drive removed so they can’t be attracted to the opposite gender. John probably has no feelings for her anymore, anyways.

I would imagine that S-IIs remain combat ready until their 80 or 90s. John is 47 and shows no sign of slowing down.

Or, like the leader in Glasslands, become an ODST-occupant.
Putting Parisa in the story would be whacked. She’s going to be John’s age, as a Marine, and not having any form of special training, it would take too long to make her an S-IV.
Spartans can retire, and Spartans can have a -Yoink!--drive, but it’s heavily suppressed. Not gone. Simply suppressed. (Sorry, just touching up on some things I read as I went down the thread).
Seeing as Parisa was a simple marine, I doubt she would get into the S-IV program, which is mostly set aside for S-IIIs, ODSTs, and mayhaps some S-Is that are still in good health (I.E. Johnson might have qualified for S-IV if he hadn’t died).
Still, I would love-love-love if in the new trilogy there’s some sort of easter egg relating to Parisa. Or better yet- In the Halo 2 HD remake! That would be the -perfect- place to put in a Parisa easter egg. Someone get 343i on the phone right now!

Thats a common misconception. Their -Yoink!- drive is suppressed so they maintain a level head on long deployments. It’s not removed.

I remember the whole -Yoink!- drive suppression being a possible side effect of one of the augmentations. For the most part, Spartans don’t bang because they think its very “Un-Spartan” as evidence when they found out Black 1 and Black 3(Of Black team, duh) were in a relationship(Actively banging) and took out Black 1’s eye.
