Hey guys, I have this problem of panicking whenever I duel with my enemy in 4v4s or 8v8s, it just happens naturally and I’m unable to aim with precision. I frequently avoided 1v1s because of this small issue, and I was also trying to 4v4 and 1v1 after playing 8v8 too many times :|.
Is there a solution to counter my problem? I would really appreciate it.
You can try to lower your sensitivity or you just need a bit more practice. It dosn’t matter if you win or loose just take those 1v1’s and always aim for the head untill you get used to it. (And yes, play octagon)
It could also help if you say what precision weapon you’re having troubles hitting your targets with
I would recommend turning vibration off, if not already as that doesn’t help. The best way to get better at 1v1 duels to is to grab a friend who is slightly better than yourself and play Octagon.
I had a similar problem before they increased the base movement speed. Learn to lose yourself in the strafe. Just relax and move side to side alternating between long and short strafes. It is the old Halo Dance of Death.
If your aim isn’t the greatest then try to distract your opponent with a well placed Hologram.

This. If you can get the ‘Halo Dance of Death’ down your laughing. 3 shots to the body then headshot is a good strat as well. If you get really confident then you can try jumping around as you 4 shot that’s even more effective. Watch the global championship final. Pistola is the master of the 1v1 BR duels.
If you’re playing infinity: try a deceptive AA like hologram. Works more often than you might realize, and any small advantage at the beginning of an engagement can be all you need.
If you’re worried about the controller: sorry, can’t help there. I have no aptitude at adopting new layouts!
Also, try mixing up your engagement distance. Maybe you’re just not that good at CQB or long ranged encounters that require strafing.
It’s most important that you have fun, so if you’re getting swept up in a competitive/losing mindset, i recommend taking break and picking up a halo book
Halo is very much a mental game even though many would dismiss this. If you let annoyances get to you it will affect your game. So the best thing to do is focus only on the positive and not think about your opponent as better. Think about how they can mess up and do exactly that to them.
