I would like to see duel wielding return to Halo, it was fun, but I’m not going to cry about it not being there.

> You say duel wielding was a flop? Then why did bungie bring it back in halo 3? They obviously did something right. Also, there were twice as many duel wielding weapons before than there are now. What happened to the smg? Or the plasma rifle? Oh yeah, 343i didn’t want to put them in. And the ar guy in halo 3 dominated mid range, while the duel wielder dominated close. Now the ar has been made the close range weapon, because the BR had to be made the mid range weapon so the stinking dmr could be the long range god. Talk about balance issues.
Duel wielding was around for two Halo games until it was removed in Reach so that we could just have a balanced CQC weapon (Like an AR that isn’t a peashooter). And did you ever try to kill someone with only one SMG or Plasma rifle? Not to mention is made the noob combo so easy to perform, just charge the PP in one hand and hold a magnum in the other.
And yes, there are balance issues, same as there was with the dual wield maulers. Just because it was in Halo 2 and 3, doesn’t mean it worked perfectly.
And no matter what, the loss of duel wielding isn’t a big problem. It looked and sounded cool, but every precision weapon user could trash you at long range.

Balance gets boring after some time, something that’s different and turns the tables is fun.

That’s what custom matches and things like Grifball are for.

Then why can’t I duel wield in those?

It was light humor. I never said you shouldn’t be able to dual wield. I was just making the point that it doesn’t matter what someone does in a CGI scene. As the other person said, there’s a lot of things you can’t do that a trailer can.
I don’t even see why you’re trying to argue this. You’re getting flustered for no reason over some duel wielding.

For the same reason you can’t call in a tactical nuke.
Dual weilding 2 boltshots…O.O no no no no no
2 pistols 8sk/2= 4sk that’s faster and better than the DMR and a scoped LR hell no to dual weilding.
maybe shes like a boss

There is a really, really, really, really big difference between holding two mass-produced pistols, and requesting a 20 megaton warhead to be detonated at your coordinates.

Duel wielding was removed in reach because before halo 2, it was unheard of. Reach was a prequel to halo ce, so, no duel wielding.
The ar performed well in midrange combat in halo 3, and duel wielding combos preformed well close range. In reach the ar was dumbed down to close range because the scoped pistol came back for mid range dominance.
The noob combo is now easier than before WHEN THEY GIVE YOU THE PP AND A PRECISION WEAPON AT THE SPAWN. Back in halos 2/3 you had to LOOK for the PP in order to use the combo. Skill vs. Convenience.
Again, good luck finding two maulers to duel wield on the map. If you do, good for you, you deserve it. But by no means do you deserve to spawn with a one shot kill weapon (boltshot) without working for it.
Precision weapon users could beat duel wielders? That would mean its balanced.
As of the halo 4 weapons now, no duel wielding would not work. But 343i didnt necessarily have to go the reach route just because it was easier to copy/paste aa’s, the dmr and a bunch of vehicles from reach.
